Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 12:00 a.m. in "The City."

Well, winter has finally arrived here in (GH), Grand Haven. I'm estimating that the amount of snowfall was about three inches of heavy, wet snow. Ginger the Wonder Dog, (GTWD) seemed to be having a grand time when she was out with Mary around 9:00 p.m. She was bounding through the snow much like (STWD), Sugar the Weather Dog, used to do.

Pardon me if I'm spelling out some of  the acronyms that I am used to using, but Mary says that I should do that every once in a while in order to be sure that everyone understands what they mean. Like most things, the acronyms have become second nature to me.

Earlier, I got an alert in my email from the WOOD TV weather center regarding the snowfall amounts in Ottawa County. The National Weather Service, (NWS) finally got it right. But as is often said, "Even a stopped clock is right twice a day."

STWD would have been content to stay in, but GTWD needs to go out and do her duty, so to speak. One good thing about adopting Ginger, Sugar has been imbued with more energy ever since Ginger's arrival.

I got our Christmas tree set up yesterday along with  placing the garland on the front porch. I should have taken a picture of that, but we had one plan that was changed by how the garland looks with fresh snow on it, so I'll have to take a picture later today.  However, Mary took a picture of our tree with the ornaments on it with the snow falling in the background. So, I'll include that now.
We are following an idea that we got from Adam and Stephany to decorate our tree. The various ornaments on the tree represent places we have visited in our travels in Michigan and other places throughout the country as a whole.
Mary was hard at work yesterday on the latest index. I mostly kept myself busy setting up the Christmas tree and doing the crossword puzzle from Saturday's edition of the Grand Haven Tribune and reading my latest book for our Wednesday book club meeting @ the Tri-Cities History Museum. I have learned more about George Washington's years/activities between his retirement as the commanding general in the Revolutionary War and his reluctant acceptance of his two terms as the first President of the U.S. than I ever had before.

We collectively took the morning safari with the fur-children in the a.m. yesterday before the snow began to fall. While the fur-children like the snow, I can take it or leave it. As Mary and I get older, we fear falling more than we did when we were younger and more resilient. So we have to make concessions to our brittle bones by avoiding ice covered sidewalks.

Today, I have no specific plans. more reading and spending time with the girls. For the uninitiated, the girls are my various stringed instruments.

The current temperature is 35° according to the readout on the Desktop Weather Station, (DTWS), which gets its information from the Front Porch Mounted Sensor, (FPMS). The NWS is reporting 34° with a revised forecast for precipitation of only a 10% chance for this early morning and 20% for later today. The sun will rise @ 8:01 a.m. and set @ 5:09 p.m. Ciao.
