Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is nearly 3:00 a.m. in "The City", where a current temperature of 33° actually feels like 33°, although my front porch sensor is shoing 37°. Outside the WW, no wind is blowing, unlike during yesterday's morning safari with STWD. Today, the NWS has forecast a high temperature of 53° under partly cloudy skies. Tomorrow, the NWS is predicting 59° with sunny skies. Here's hoping that they are right. I noted that the NWS is no longer going to use all capital letters to announce weather alerts. In texting and emails, that's screaming, unlike TV news where everything is a BREAKING NEWS ALERT!, I think this is a wise approach.
At 1:35 a.m., we experienced a short internet outage, that while not as lengthy as the nearly two hour one yesterday morning, came at exactly the same time as that one. Our cable provider assured me yesterday, that there was nothing wrong in the system. But the same time both nights? C'mon! By the by, they think that a four hour outage is acceptable. I asked during a chat, "Would a car with brakes that worked 85% of the time, or which started 85% of the time on your way to work be acceptable?" You get my drift. I noted yesterday while on our walk, that the cable company serviceman was working on a pole not far from the Palatial Estate. Hmmmmm.
I accomplished quite a lot yesterday. Let's see, I took the morning walk with the intrepid one, started some household chores. played Susanna, read more of a novel, worked a crossword, got my hair cut while doing the oversized bedspread at the local laundromat, and then came home and did some vacuuming that was necessitated by Sugar's spring shedding. I sandwiched all of that around some good cooking by Mary who was multitasking herself with indexing, chatting, and cooking. Once again, I'm tired just writing that description. Phew!
Fortunately, there were no trains to spot yesterday. That would have put me over the top. It is likely that they will return today. I wonder what color the tank cars will be today?
Sports was light yesterday, as the boys in blue had the day off after their lengthy road trip and the home opener. The division leading Cubs with a record of 6 - 1, play again tonight against the Reds of Cincinnati. The Tigers pounded the Pirates, 8 - 2, leaving them third in their division, based on a record of 4 - 2. My beloved Red Sox lost once again to the Orioles, by a score of 5 - 9. They too are in third place in their division with a record of 3 - 4.
Today, I have no specific plans. The mornig safari with STWD, more reading, more time with the girls, editing and assisting in general with the indexing project, trainspotting and ??? Whew, once again I am getting tired just thinking about it.
The sun will rise at 7:06 a.m. and set at 8:26 p.m. Ciao.
