Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 3:00 a.m. in :The City."

I just spent some time playing with the newest member of "My Harem." Her name is Susanna, which according to many sources, originated in Hebrew and means Lily. Close enough for me and she. Like all of the girls, she is a she because, well she is. Here is her picture as taken by Mary, she who "Forced" me to bring Susanna home from the local guitar store. Susanna is a six string banjo, that is tuned like a guitar and played like one too. However, her sound is the traditional twang that all banjos make. I like her.

I originally stopped in to get a spare set of strings for Leilani, but one of the dangers of going into a guitar store is that you may not leave alone, sort of like going to an animal shelter and coming home with a companion pet. One good thing, none of my girls require medical insurance nor vaccinations and the only sustenance they need is an occasional set of new strings.

But I digress. Cubs Win! Cubs Win! Cubs Win!. They trailed nearly the entire game with Jon Lester on the mound. But they scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to narrow the gap to a score of 2 - 3. They put two men on in the bottom of the 8th inning and then Addison Russell came to bat and launched the Reds' pitcher's high speed offering into the teeth of a strong wind on a 40° night, seven or eight rows into the left field stands. New score, 5 - 3, which became the final score as the Cubs closer, Hector Rondon, struck out the Reds' players in the top of the ninth. The boys are still on top of the NL Central, with a record of 6 - 1. This is their first opening day win since 2010. They play again on Wednesday night.

The Tigers didn't fare as well, as they lost to the Pirates 4 - 7 on a cold afternoon in Detroit. They have fallen to second in the AL Central. My beloved Red Sox didn't have any better luck, as they lost to the Orioles 7 - 9, and are now at 3 - 3 in the AL East, which is 3rd place. Ouch.

There were trains to spot yesterday, At 10:20 a.m., Locomotives 2057 and 2019 rumbled through "The City" towing an eclectic mix of seven CHCs, seven DBTCs, with three of those at the end, two DWTCs, loaded with HCl acid, and one Green TC, that looked like this.

I was not able to find any reference to the type of cargo this car carried. At 2:30 p.m., the same tandem of locomotives rolled past heading north, towing a lone CHC, a single BC, three DBTCs, one GTC, with two DWTCs bringing up the rear.

We also made it to the chiropractor. It was on our return walk, after Mary got another cookbook at The Bookman, that contains many interesting recipes. It was after we left JWs, that Mary insisted that I stop at the guitar store and that I needed another member for my family. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Earlier in the day, STWD and I walked to the groomer where she got her spring bath and other necessary spa like activities.

Today, Mary plans to finish the indexing project along with some time on her regular Tuesday chat session. I am hoping to get to the barber shop later today, but they were closed yesterday when I stopped to make an appointment, so I don't know how that will go.

We have a current temperature of 37° that feels like 28° as we attempt to reach today's high of 43° Tomorrow, we are expecting a high of 53° under cloudy skies.

Today more reading, more playing with the girls, and some household chores. The sun will rise at 7:08 a.m. and set at 8:25 p.m. Ciao.
