Good mid-afternoon GH. It is just past 4:00 p.m. in "The City." The current temperature, both inside and outsides the Weather Center, is 75°. The forecast for the next to days is for the temperatures to be in the mid to upper 60s, with a 30-40% chance of isolated T-storms. As always, it will be cooler here on the shores of the "Big Lake", than it is in GR or points south.

Mary and I have just finished watching the "Greatest Spectacle in Racing", which was relatively accident free and which was ultimately won by Ryan Hunter-Reay. He held off Julio Castroneves and Marco Andretti after a red flag stop and restart. The average speeds were considerably higher than last year's race. The newer engines by Honda or Chevrolet Racing produce about 700 plus horsepower with twin turbos. It is the RPMs that make them what they are.  I have included some pictures here for your enjoyment.

Yesterday, we did our morning walkabout with Sugar the Weather Dog and then made stops at the Farmer's Market and the library. Mary finished her latest project as I headed to the local health food store. Then we walked to the Post to partake of the food at Rib Fest 2014. We had a good time, but the winning ribs and sides will have to wait for a later blog.  After that, it was time for home and a bit of rest for me while Mary knitted more of my afghan. I got tired after all of the days activities, so I went off to bed.

This morning, we once again did our morning walk about and then came home, where I watered the vegetable gardens on the palatial estate, and Mary prepared the feast for the Indy 500, pictured above. Since I didn't feel like getting up earlier this morning, my blog waited until the race was over.

Tomorrow, yard and other outdoor work await and Mary won't have another project until June 10. I think she likes having a break in the action. June 10 is post the Red Sox and Tigers game we will attend on June 8.

Speaking of my beloved Red Sox and the Tigers, the Sox lost in extra innings 5 - 6. The Tigers were trounced 2 - 12 by Texas. However, they still lead their division by 5.5 games. The boys in blue beat San Diego 3 - 2. The Caps fell 3 - 5 to Dayton and play again tonight against that same team.

That looks like enough for today. Ciao
