Good early morning GH. We just passed 3:45 a.m. in "The City," and the current temperature is 45° We hope to get to a high of 47° if the forecast from the National Weather Service is correct. Right now my view out the Weather Window confirms the fact that it is raining. The forecast calls for the rain to cease by 3:00 a.m., so in a short time I should be able to confirm that fact. Nope, still raining. Good news, the temperatures are supposed to rise to 60° by Tuesday. However, we may also drop back into the 50s a few days later. Mary's garden would approve of the 60s, but not those 50s.

Friday, we didn't get out for a walk with Sugar the Weather Dog until after 11:00 a.m. We walked downtown and picked up a loaf of bread and then came home. As often happens when we get out later, Sugar had to wait for her breakfast. Then we went to a nearby garage sale without Sugar, but came away unrequited. Once home, Mary used the new bread to make her famous sauerkraut and Swiss cheese sandwiches for lunch. Those are always a hit with me. Mary also made a salad for a side.

After lunch, I hung the puzzle on the wall and had no complications. It looks great, just where Mary had envisioned it. Then I rearranged my office/Weather Center/music room. I like the new arrangement. During the rearrangement, I noticed that one of the stands for "The Girls was broken. I can repair it when I get a chance to use a welder. Then I played for awhile before getting down to work. All in all, it took me about six and one-quarter hours to finish my part of the current project.

As I was nearly finished, around 4:30 p.m., the Chief of Security for our small business came up to "talk" to me. Her internal clock started ticking early yesterday, and she came upstairs as I was working and wanted her dinner. As is often the case with one half of her genetic makeup, she was very vocal about her desires. I finally gave in around 4:45 p.m. and then she was happy. It doesn't matter when Sugar eats breakfast, when she gets hungry, she comes to visit. I finished my highlighting duties as Mary worked on her end of the project.

Mary made a down and dirty spaghetti dish for dinner. She didn't feel that when she had originally batch cooked the sauce that it was spiced properly. Personally I thought that all it needed was some salt, which Mary rarely, if ever, uses while cooking. That's in deference to her personal tastes and my need for less sodium in my diet. I am hoping that next time she gets the sauce out of the freezer that she will make spaghetti roll casserole. I always like that and Mary does it well.

Like often happens, I got tired and headed upstairs after dinner. I watched a little TV in the media room, and then decided that there was nothing that prevented me from going off to bed, so I did. I was there until about one-half hour ago. Mary came in around 2:00 a.m., after doing a knitting marathon on my afghan while watching a marathon of TV shows on the downstairs TV. She told me what what the show was, but I was half asleep and I don't remember.

In sports, the boys in blue defeated the Cardinals 6 - 5 to move to 10 - 17 on the season. The Tigers too were victorious over the Royals, 8 - 2, and they now lead their division with a 15 - 9 record. My beloved Red Sox righted the ship over a team with a better record by defeating the Oakland Athletics 7 - 1. Unfortunately the Red Sox are still at two games under 500. The Caps took on the Lansing Lugnuts and won their game 4 - 2. The Caps are now just one-half game off of the division lead with a record of 16 - 12.

Today we may or may not get to a city-wide garage sale here in the Tri-cities. Garage sales are in keeping with Mary's, and what should be America's motto, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Re-purpose. We throw away far too much in this country and buy things that can be re-purposed from their original use. First, I plan to listen to my favorite Saturday morning show. Those 250,000 mile plus vehicles that just need a little TLC to keep them on the road are so interesting. The show that follows features two veterinarians and care tips for our pets. Finally my morning is completed by a local garden show.

Mary often likes to get up and watch a political talk show on Saturday, but even she has her limits, and often stays with me to listen to the radio. So once our day begins, we will travel to that garage sale city and then Mary will work more, I'll try to play guitar more and then settle down for the "Run For the Roses," The Kentucky Derby. The race coverage starts around noon, but the race is at 4:00 p.m. and lasts about two minutes. Mary, Steph, Adam, and I have all picked horses for the race, and as usual the names of the horses were a deciding factor.

I just "happened" to choose a horse with good odds and a semi-car connection. Mary chose a horse with a local connection to the Tri-cities. Steph chose a horse with a candy tie in, and Adam, well I'm not sure what his criteria was.

No trains this morning, as usual, on a Friday night/Saturday morning. Ciao.
