Good early morning GH. It is just past 1:00 AM in "The City. Our current temperature is 22° under cloudy skies. Not coincidentally, that will be our high for the day. A quick look out the Weather Window has given me a view of the light snow that is falling. Unlike the ground hog, I closed the blinds to avoid having to look at it. Unfortunately, the snow is very likely to last for another six weeks around here. The forecast for the next 10 days is for below average temperatures and above average snowfall. The National Weather Service forecast tells me that snow will continue to fall until Thursday. In addition, the winds will pick up and the snow will be blowing and drifting. What else is new?

I was watching the evening news, and Michigan has reached 137% of their annual salt usage. Some areas are well past that. Our local governments are having difficulty finding places to pile the amount of snow that has fallen. If I wasn't so selfish, I'd suggest that they put it on train cars and send it out west. But I'd prefer to keep it for our own great and small lakes, rivers, streams, and ponds. I suspect that commodities brokers are betting that the price of water dependent crops in California will rise dramatically. I do know that if you know anything about how to play the market, you can win either way that prices go. I don't, so I won't.

I am nearly done with my latest book, I should finish it up later this AM. I spent part of yesterday afternoon with Sugar the Sous Dog in Mary's kitchen, baking my latest incarnation of banana nut bread. It turned out great. After that I read and watched TV.

Today no baking, just reading and going to a P/T appointment. I am up now because my shoulder has that ache that comes of lying in bed for several hours. Once the OTC pain reliever kicks in, I can return to bed. It's no wonder that I feel tired most days. I don't get a long, uninterrupted nights's deep sleep, so I am always yawning. I know that Mary says I never slept all that deeply, but I could generally awake without pain and that gave me a better sleep. Sigh. It will be several more weeks until the pain subsides.

That looks like enough for now. The southbound train just went by, so we won't see/hear another until about 3:00 AM. I hope to have uninterrupted sleep until...Tea time and breakfast of banana nut bread. Sunrise will be at 7:55 AM and sunset at 6:02 PM. Ciao.
