Good early morning GH. It is just past 12:30 AM in "The City," and the current temperature is 19° under cloudy skies. Along with a forecast high of 25°, snow is in the forecast for today. Sunrise today will be at exactly 8:00 AM and sunset at 5:58 PM. That means that we are just short of 10 hours of daylight. Since it is February 01, 2014, pitchers and catchers report in just 13 more days. I'll be born again, there'll be new grass on the field. ( I borrowed that from a song lyric.) Next year will be here, etc.

But I digress. As the day wears on, anywhere from three to seven inches of additional snow may fall. This is likely to be heavy wet snow, so the removal will be much more difficult. MIDOT is recommending that people take numerous breaks when shoveling. Surprise, slippery and ice covered roads will make driving difficult and hazardous. A furtive look out the Weather Window tells me that I still can't see our Weather Rock, but no snowfall is happening right now.

Yesterday my P/T appointment went well. I still get pain when the therapist moves my arm to the extremes, but I can use an ice pack if it becomes necessary. Seems like that is very likely. I also have to be careful to stop an activity when pain occurs. That includes playing my guitars. Sigh. Otherwise, not much happens when you don't get up until after 12:00 PM. RHIP I say. That's, "Retirement has its privileges," for those who don't recognize that acronym. In the military, service members say RHIP too. But that's "Rank has its privileges." Maybe advanced age is a rank of a sort.

About 11:00 PM last night, the train made its first run through town. I was unwilling to get up to view it, but it didn't sound very long.  Yesterday afternoon, Mary and I were speaking with one of the bar tenders at our favorite watering hole, and he agrees regarding trains. He also recommends a railroad in Maryland, and that one is already on my to do list. There's something about a train, that's magic. I borrowed that phrase from a long ago AMTRAK commercial.

Otherwise, not much happened yesterday, and with the weather that is expected today, it is unlikely that much will happen today either. Mary will work and I'll read after watching the early news programs. I'll work on my exercises and then  sit more than I should. I'd stay in bed today too, but in order to see those news programs, I'll have to get up. Sigh.

So unless something is worthy of additional note and unless additional pictures are in order, I'll sign off for now. Ciao.

At 1:36 AM, the railroad sent twin EMD GP 38 locomotives north, deadheading. One was sporting the C F & E livery, which I believe stands for Chicago, Ft. Wayne, and Eastern Railroad, while the other had the newer Mid-Michigan livery that is slowly being implemented.
