Good early morning GH. It is just past 2:00 AM in "The City," and the current temperature is 24° as we head down to our low of 22°. Our high today is expected to be 23° with light snow flurries. Right now, the entrance to the shared driveway has been supplied with new snow courtesy of the city. It can't be helped, but once again, it requires removal that I can't give it. Plus, the newest neighbor across the street, has decided that the place to park his van is directly across the street from the driveway. That means that the plow service needs to work around the van. Oh well, we'll deal with that in the daylight hours.

Saturday, Mary made my request for breakfast, an egg, cheeses, and chorizo sausage burrito. It was tasty, but if I had a suggestion, a little less cooking of the sausage would be in order. Dinner was delightful. I had found a recipe for Fettuccine Alfredo the other day that used cauliflower as the base for the Alfredo sauce. Mary applied her own touch to it. I mentioned the other day that this sauce was beyond my pay grade, so Mary cooked and I ate. It was superb. Instead of the high fat version, the cauliflower version is low cal and low fat. I can say with a great deal of enthusiasm, that it was up there with any other Alfredo sauce that I have eaten. This is one of those times that I can declare Mary's efforts a keeper. She always asks if a particular recipe is a keeper, and this one is.

After dinner, we watched an early evening news and information program. A good program that was both informative and just the right length, one hour. Then it was time to watch some television. I tuned in the final one hour or so of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, starring Jimmy Stewart. Mary and I loved it. This being an old movie channel, they were showing Oscar winners. So, they followed with The Wizard of Oz. Old songs and what are by today's standards, lame special effects, but still very enjoyable.

By the time that movie was over, we had retired to the "Media Room" to finish up. Our final movie of the evening was Sleepless in Seattle, starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. I had never seen this movie before, and although a "Chick Flick," I liked it. For a 21 year old movie, it holds up well. Not a movie that will make you forget some of the four star Oscar winners, but enjoyable.

It was time for me to go to bed by then and Mary came right after me. I only awoke a short time ago due to my usual aching shoulder. Once the OTC pain killer kicks in, I can go back to bed.

The annual commercial fest known as the Super Bowl is later today. Like many Americans, Mary and I tune in to see the creative efforts of the advertising people. Since we don't have a horse in the race, we can enjoy the game without caring who wins. However given a choice, I'd take the Broncos. 42° is expected to be the temperature at kickoff time. The prediction for snow waiting to fall until Monday, gives the NFL a little breathing room.

Otherwise, today promises to be a day of Mary working and me reading. I am still keeping my guitar playing on hold to save my shoulder. Sigh. So to borrow that famous phrase, "Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon..."

Sunrise today will be at 7:58 AM and sunset at 5:58 PM, a full 10 hours later. I hope we actually get some sun during that time. Both Mary and I are so over this winter and I didn't even have to shovel the snow. So until...Tea time happens in a few hours, adios.
