Good early morning GH. It is just past 1:00 AM in "The City." Our current temperature is 12° as we head for a high of 23°. The original forecast for snow has been modified to one to two inches vs. two to four inches. Sugar the Weather Dog will probably like that, because she is finding it hard to get her legs on the ground when she is out walking, according to her walker. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday promise to be cold, but not unbearable. However, MIDOT warns that blowing and drifting snow will continue to cause hazardous driving conditions.
When we awoke on Saturday, the snow had been deposited in the entrance to the shared driveway by the city crews. There is little they can do as they patrol the streets of our fair city in search of clear ingress and egress from "The City." Unfortunately that limits our personal ingress and egress from the palatial estate. However, the snow removal service had to work for over three hours to clear things and even had to recruit help from a passing plow truck to finish the end. I have some pictures to give an idea of what he faced before and what it was like after. I'll include some now and some in future blogs.
Once the afternoon had come, we were able to get out and go to the local grocers and the downtown area for some lunch. Since it was Winter-fest, the restaurants were crowded and that was the plan, so all went well. We didn't make it to the luau, but we did watch an old movie at home that we had only seen once or twice before. We had our own celebration and then I got sleepy and went to bed. Mary didn't and watched the umpteenth showing of her favorite apocalyptic movie. I told here we were living it, and didn't need to watch it.
Speaking of apocalyptic, the pictures I took I call snow-pocalypse. It seems appropriate. So until...Tea time occurs shortly after sunrise at 8:06 AM, I'll be returning to bed right after I add some of those aforementioned pictures. Ciao.
