I heard a train go by shortly before midnight yesterday, but by then I was snug in my bed and unwilling to go look out the Weather Window. I was amazed that they came out, but as I've often noted, trains aren't affected by the snow. Their yard crews yes, but not the trains themselves.
I plan to add some pictures a bit later to this blog that clearly show the snow piled up around the palatial estate. That being the case, I won't be publishing this blog until I have the pictures in hand. At that time, I'll make a note of the time of publication.
Mary made an excellent stir-fry on Wednesday. I was supposed to go to P/T, but I canceled due to the weather. Hopefully, I'll get there on Friday. I know that I need the therapy, but I am not willing to go out and jeopardize myself in the snow. I also don't want to jeopardize the health of my chauffeur.
So, I did my home exercises twice on Wednesday, and I'll do the same today. I am not supposed to exceed exercising two times per day at this stage of my recovery period. That goes along with not lifting anything more than one pound of weight. I have done well at teaching myself to not reach out with my dominant hand during my convalescence. 62 years of habit can be hard to break. I also continue to use my left hand to eat and drink. I figure that that skill may come in handy down the road. Plus, most cups and glasses filled with liquid exceed my weight lifting limit.
So beyond the doctor's appointment for Sugar the Weather Dog, I personally don't have much on tap for the day. Mary will continue to work when she is not playing chauffeur to her intrepid Weather Dog and yours truly. I'll continue to look forward to meals, but I won't be playing the guitar today, as I strained myself enough yesterday. I have to remind myself that patience is a virtue.
So until...Tea time comes, and the sun also rises at 8:08 AM (Sorry Ernest ), when I can get those pictures you see below, Ciao
It is now 8:35 AM, just after sunrise. Here are those pictures
A view of the analog thermometer, located in the Weather Window 8:25 AM Note that -2° below 0° reading |
The city did a fine job of overnight snow removal |
The end of the shared driveway, post city efforts Our snow removal service will have to retake the driveway |
The back forty of the Palatial Estate. If you look closely, you can see Sugar's run-out area at the rear of the deck |
A winter wonderland. Directly below the trees on the right, Sugar's preferred outdoor area. To get there, it requires her to scale a two foot high mound of snow |
A view of Public Safety out Mary's office window |
The trash is gone, but this carved out area was clear to the grass late yesterday |
Alas poor Ragus, she is snow-bound on the front porch |
