Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 4:30 a.m. in "The City."
The current temperature is 62° under mostly-clear skies. The NWS based in GR forecast for today, indicates that there is a 40% chance for rain this evening, with a possibility for T-storms. In addition, the skies will cloud-up as the day progresses towards those evening showers. A quick look out the WW indicates that it is actually clear right now Our high today is forecast to be 77°, under partly-cloudy skies. The sun will rise @ 6:51 a.m. and set later tonight @ 8:46 p.m.

We ran a few errands yesterday that included a stop at the nearby big-box home center, and a stop at that aforementioned Camera Store in Muskegon to replace that missing lens cap. I'd share a pic of that, but it is attached to the camera body by a tether, so...

However, since we had our camera along for the ride to get that new lens cap, I took some pix along the way. Since I had been in the kitchen all morning baking and steaming, I took some pix of my efforts there too. I'll share those now.

However before I do, I'd like to add this clip from YouTube™ of the band The Talking Heads, performing their hit, Life During Wartime, which includes the tagline, "This ain't no party, this ain't no disco." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQMAGT-3wx4

George Noory, host of Coast to Coast AM, used it as one of his transitions from one segment to another and it seemed appropriate to this blog.

Remember this large zucchini that I picked from our garden the other day?
Well, it became two loaves of zucchini bread yesterday.

As the baker, I was the first to sample my wares. They taste even better than they look!
As I mentioned, I also prepared and steamed a new recipe for pepperoni. Since I limited the amount of hot-pepper spice I added, it tastes more like salami, but in either case, it is excellent. We had some for dinner on Veggie Delight™ sandwiches from that nationally known chain. Whatever name you call it, this is definitely a keeper.

Way good!
Moving right along, we have another road-trip planned for today after I walk STWD around the block and we drop Ginger @ daycare. That's so that Ginger is occupied and not waiting on the back of the couch for us to return. Instead, she can wait with her dog-pals and gals at Sitting Pretty, where she will get a couple of walks and other activities to both wear her out and keep her distracted from her missing humans.

Our goal for today is to travel to Newaygo to visit The New Ewe, Mary's favorite yarn store, to pick up her latest order from their Summertime Santa Workshop. The folks at The New Ewe, are quite good at self-promotion for quilters, their other focus, and knitters alike, holding several events throughout the year. Plus, a trip to Newaygo provides numerous photo-ops for us too.

We also have a plan to stop at that big-box arts and crafts store in Norton Shores on the way back, in order to pick-up a storage cabinet for me and perhaps some hinged rings for Mary's cross-stitch and needle point activities. If we are still feeling the vibe, there is a large craft fair called Arts and Drafts in Norton Shores too.

In baseball news, the 64 - 51, still tied for 1st place in the NL Central with the Cardinals, pulled a very Tigers-like stunt last night, managing to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, as Bryce Harper unloaded a Grand-Slam home run in the bottom of the ninth, allowing the Phillies to sweep the Cubs. Yu Darvish pitched well and should have gotten the win, but...

The Cubs make their next stop in Pittsburgh tonight @ 7:05 p.m. EDT, to face the 50 - 70, last place in the NL East Pirates, with Kyle Hendricks, 8 - 9, trying for the Cubs win.

My beloved, 64 - 59, still 3rd place in the AL East, Red Sox, had the day off yesterday. The Sox welcome the 39 - 82, last place in the AL East Orioles to Fenway Park tonight @ 7:10 p.m., when Edwardo Rodriguez, 13 - 5, gets the start.

The 36 - 82, last place in the AL Central Tigers did it again, losing to the 50 - 72, last place in the AL West Mariners, 2 - 7. Spencer Turnbull, 3 - 11, took another loss in this lost season. The Tigers move on to Tampa Bay to face the 71 - 51, 2nd place in the AL East Rays tonight @ 7:10 p.m., when Dan Norris, 3 - 10, tries to right the Tigers' sinking ship.

The 39 - 82, last place in the MWL East WhiteCaps, summoned up some strength and defeated the 74 - 45, 2nd place Great Lakes Loons last night, 5 - 1. The Caps and the Loons go again tonight @ 7:05 p.m.

In keeping with the request from my loyal readers, I have chosen to include some additional pix of non-motorized travel at the end of this blog. I've decided to call these Flights of Fancy.

A nice cloud formation seen on our retrun from The Camera Store.

Same here.

Just outside Stan's Bar and Grill in Spring Lake.
However, since we were road-tripping, I took this pic of a Bell UH-1 Iroquois, affectionately called a "Huey" by the many service members who have flown or ridden in them over the many years they have been in service. This one is permanently located at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park in Norton Shores.

Taken out the side-window as Mary drove slowly by, to the consternation of the cars in our wake.
I should mention that my recent treatment visit to the orthopedist has proven to be quite effective. I have considerably less yak pain than I did before, which bodes well for the next log-term treatment.

Since I am listening to George Noory, and since he always transitions from one segment to another with a musical choice, this last clip from YouTube™ seems an appropriate way to close this blog on another Flight of Fancy. I hope you like it.

Here is Israel Kamakawiwo'ole playing his ukulele and singing a medley of Somewhere Over the Rainbow and What a Wonderful World..
