The current temperature is 73° under cloudy skies, as we drop to our overnight low of 67°. Today and tomorrow, there is precipitation in the forecast, albeit with only about a 40% chance for this evening and tomorrow morning. We got a little rain overnight last nght. The sun rises today @ 6:47 a.m., and sets later @ 8:51 p.m. Today, we'll see a high temperature of 80°.
We lazed about yesterday before going walkabout with the fur-children in the mid-afternoon. STWD and Ginger have been wanting to go walkabout, but with Mary's recent insect bite still healing, we have had to put them off. However, after lunch and some indoor chores, we set out to do some reading in Central Park.
Unfortunately, our fur-children are not the best behaved, so when other dogs passed by with their humans, STWD and Ginger went ballistic. So, we moved on to the "Peace Garden" located on the grounds of the Episcopal Church across from City Hall and the Public Safety Department. Ginger was willing to layabout, but STWD just couldn't settle down, soe w packed up and headed for home.
Along the way I took several pix, some from our bench in Central Park and some from our bench in the "Peace Garden". Here they are for your viewing pleasure
With the exception of our ill-mannered fur-children, it was a great spot to sit and read. |
The flower beds in the park are in full bloom. |
These Greyhounds distracted our fur-children, but the Greyhounds didn't seem to notice. |
A nice car shot through the Canna Lilies in the park. |
We sat behind St. Francis in the "Peace Garden." |
My beloved 3rd place in the AL East Red Sox took 10 innings to lose to the 4th place in the AL West Angels, 4 - 5. The Sox travel to Cleveland for a game against the 1st place in the AL Central Indians @ 7:10 p.m.
The last place in the AL Central Tigers found yet another way to lose, this time to the 4th place Royals 2 - 10. There is nothing good to be found from that game. The Tigers welcome the 5th place in the AL West Mariners to Comerica Park tonight for a 7:10 p.m. start.
The 8th place in the MWL East WhiteCaps defeated the 4th place Lake County Captains yesterday, 5 - 4, not that it makes any difference. The Caps and the Captains finish up their series in OH tonight @ 7:00 p.m.
Otherwise, not much was happening, Mary made another of her pizzas in a cast iron pan that incorporated our garden-fresh tomatoes, green peppers, mushrooms, and spices atop her secret sauce and her homemade pizza dough. I liked it.
Today, I have nothing planned. I am tiring of reading the book that Mary had me reading. At this time, finishing it is problematical. It just isn't my cup of tea, so to speak. Mary has an early appointment to follow-up on her insect bite recovery. That should go well. The fur-children and I will be holding down the fort until her return. Ciao.
