Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 2:00 a.m. in "The City."

I awoke to the sound of thunder and the flash of lightning around 12:30 a.m. I tried to get Ginger to go out before the rain, but she was having no part. Oh well, she has a mind of her own. The fur-children did not get, nor want, a walk in the rain yesterday. We have a current temperature of 43° under, wait for it, rainy skies. Later today, the NWS is forecasting a high temperature of 64° under cloudy skies with only a 20% chance for additional precipitation. The sun will rise @ 6:24 a.m. and set later @ 8:58 p.m.

What a great chance to segue into the baseball news from yesterday. Once again, the 15 - 21, 3rd in the AL Central, Tigers, were postponed by "inclement weather" in a game @ Comerica Park, this time against the 21 - 15, 3rd in the AL West Seattle Mariners. Their game has been rescheduled as part of a double-header, the fourth such double-header this season, that begins with the regularly scheduled game @ 4:10 p.m., followed by a second game 30 minutes later. Fans with tickets for Saturday's game will be able to see both games for the price of one, whereas fans with tickets for Friday's game can exchange their tickets for a similar ticket or one of lesser value for any future game.

The 20 - 15, 4th in the NL Central by one game, Cubs, crushed that other team from Chicago yesterday, 11 - 2. Catcher Willson Contreras hit a grand-slam to go with another homer on what was his bobble-head day. Pitcher Tyler Chatwood looked great against that rebuilding team from across town. The Cubs and that other team play again today @ 2:20 p.m. EDT. The NL Central is a tight race, with four teams vying for 1st place.

My beloved 26 - 12, tied for 1st place with the Yankees in the AL East Red Sox, fell in 12 innings to the 21 - 18, 3rd in the AL East Toronto Blue Jays, 3 - 5,.in spite of another great effort from pitcher Chris Sales who started out wobbly, but eventually recorded 15 strikeouts. However, one of the relievers surrendered a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 12th to cause that 3 - 5 loss. The Sox and the Blue Jays play again today @ 4:07 p.m.

The 18 - 15, 4th in the MWL East Caps, were off yesterday and they play two today against the 14 - 17, 6th in the MWL West, Burlington, IA Bees, starting @ 6:00 p.m.

Ginger and I had a good day of trainspotting yesterday as we spotted the first train run on the RSTL @ 8:50 a.m. MMRR EMD GP 38-2 locomotives 2025 and 2019 were slowly towing 17 CHCs, five DBTCs, four DWTCs, and one GTC. In the early afternoon, those same locomotives headed north, towing 21 CHCs, and three DWTCs.

Today, we have nothing specific on tap. I changed two light bulbs yesterday and that was the extent of my activities along with some reading and crossword solving. Since there is a slight chance of rain today, we may spend some time learning about our new camera. Ciao.
