Wow, miss a couple of hours, miss a lot. Well actually, it was only a few minutes. I awoke from my slumber and my beloved 25 - 11 2nd place in the AL East Red Sox were ahead of the 1st place in the AL East Yankees, 4 - 0. I came back upstairs after letting Ginger out to write this blog and the Sox had surrendered four runs in the bottom of the 7th inning. However, I sat down at my desk to write and J.D. Martinez, the former Tiger, hit a line-drive home run to give the lead back to the Sox. The game had been in a 55 minute rain delay. With a bit of luck, the Sox will return to a tie atop the AL East with the Yankees with identical 26 - 11 records. They did it, the Sox held on and defeated the Yankees, 5 - 4.
The 19 - 15, 4th place in the NL Central Cubs, are off until tomorrow before they welcome that other team from Chicago to The Friendly Confines at 2:20 p.m. EDT.
The 15 - 21, 3rd place in the Al Central Tigers, were also mercifully off today. Tomorrow, they welcome the 20 - 15, 3rd place in the AL West Seattle Mariners, to Comerica Park for a 7:10 p.m. game.
The 18 - 15, 4th place in the MWL East, West Michigan WhiteCaps, AKA the Caps, should have had the day off, as they lost in 10 innings to the 14 - 17 Burlington. IA Bees, 6 - 8. The Caps and the Bees play again @ the Fifth/Third Ballpark @ 7:05 p.m. tomorrow night.
We had an interesting day today. After last night's severe T-storms, the day opened clear and calm. The high temperature reached 62° and the day remained pleasant. Tomorrow,. Friday, the NWS is forecasting a high temperature of only 48° with a 90% chance for showers. We often miss the forecast precipitation, but this is spring in West, MI on the shores of the "Big Lake", so you never know. At any rate, this is supposed to be the last cold day for the next several months.
Mary and I had planned to go to Rosy Mound County Park for another try at a wildflower walk with the chance to use our new camera. But, if the day turns out as forecast, I/we'll not be going.
However, we did stop in Spring Lake yesterday afternoon and bought what Mary says are her last store-bought flowers for a few months. She didn't use the new camera, but her iPhone took what I think is a beautiful picture of her latest arrangement. What say you?
I forget the mix the florist put together, but the aroma is terrific! |
Otherwise, that is about all I accomplished, which was my plan. I am not going to overdo any activity and stress my yak. The sun will rise tomorrow @ 6:25 a.m. and set later @ 8:57 p.m. Ciao.
