Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 10:30 p.m. in "The City, Grand Haven, MI."

You probably thought I had abandoned my loyal readers, but nothing could be further from the truth. I decided that in honor of the new year, which freed us from the bonds of what had been the worst year in many people's lives, that I would give myself and this blog a rest. But to put it like Jack Nicholson's character in The Shining intoned, "I'm back!"

At any rate, we are in the midst of a Winter Weather Advisory until 6:00 a.m. tomorrow. While snow accumulations may be only one to three inches, it is the freezing rain that is the most problematic. That rain is coating all of the roads and the manse itself in a sheet of ice that makes driving and walking very hazardous.

We have a current temperature of 31° that feels like 23° with winds out of the northwest @ 10 mph. Tonight's low will be 27°. Tomorrow, the high temperature will rise to 34° with a similar low temperature. It will be a good day to stay indoors and do some chores and out of the weather.

I didn't blog yesterday, but I think it is worthy of note that Mary made a terrific homemade pizza yesterday that incorporated my vegan pepperoni. She and I have decided that making the pizza in the cast iron skillet and par-baking the dough before the final assembly and baking is the best way to go.

I finished a couple of crossword puzzles yesterday and one today. I also finished a large print novel, and got in some practice on my harmonica.

Today, I assisted in the making of Coleslaw and we had that with some vegan hot dogs in a blanket with Mary's secret recipe dressing for dinner. She is experimenting with different formulas and condiments and this was her best to date.

Tomorrow, those indoor chores await as does more reading, more crossword solving, and more looking for adventure in whatever comes our way. We gonna  make it happen, take the world in a love embrace. Oops, I was channeling Steppenwolf's  Born to Be Wild, but that's how good it feels to have 2020 in the rearview mirror. So, why not include a version of Born to Be Wild from YouTube™. Ciao.
