I'll open with the trainspotting report this early ayem. At 11:40 p.m. last night, I watched out the WW as MMRR locomotives 2019 and 2170 passed by heading south, towing nine CHCs, and 16 CGCs.
I couldn't sleep, so I got up and went downstairs and did my regular rounds, emptying the dishwasher, filling the water bowls for the fur-children, and enjoying some non-dairy yogurt with applesauce. While I was enjoying my snack, I heard that lonesome whistle blow and so I sprang to the living room window and watched as that same tandem of locomotives passed by heading north, running without cars in tow. Both of those locomotives are of the GP 38-2 model, having been purchased by the MMRR from other railroads.
We have a current temperature of 39° that feels like 39° with a light wind blowing out of the north @1 mph.
The NWS is reporting a current barometric pressure of 29.92" and rising, while my DTWS is showing 29.33" and steady. We have cloudy skies now. Later today, those cloudy skies will open up occasionally in the afternoon and we may see rain. Today's high temperature is forecast to reach 45° with an overnight low of 37°. Saturday, the high will reach 40°, but that comes with a 100% chance for rain and snow.
The sun will rise this morning @ 8:06 a.m. and set this evening @ 5:09 p.m.
We completed two crossword puzzles yesterday. After which, we repaired to the deck with our fur-children for a nail grinding session. Ginger, being a small dog, was unable to escape, so we got all four of her feet done. STWD, saw that grinder come out and she headed as far away as her tether would allow. However, we managed to get her back, but we were only able to corral her long enough to do her front paws. Both of our fur-children gat a dental treat as a reward.
Mary crafted more cottage tofu for our dinner and also tried a new recipe for BBQ sauce that I like a lot.
Now that our viewing of Victoria is done, we are trying a new program, Mr. Robot. This series seems to have potential for us shut-ins.
I finished my novel, Lorenzo Carcaterra's The Wolf, an interesting book. Mary moved on to her latest novel, but I forget its title and author.
Since I am awake, I took time to play my guitar and also work through two harmonica lessons.
Today, we have no specific plans and the chance of inclement weather may keep us indoors. More reading, more puzzle solving, and more retirement. Ciao.
