Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 5:30 a.m. in "The City."

The current temperature is 37° under partly-cloudy skies. Today's high is forecast to reach 38° under skies with snow-showers in the forecast @ 50%. The sun will rise today @ 8:16 a.m. and set later @ 5:25 p.m. Tomorrow, the high temperature will only reach a more January-like 24°. Not to worry though, on Thursday, we'll rebound to 44°, and Friday will be 43°, albeit with a 60% chance for showers on both days. Fortunately, showers never have to be shoveled.

That's the good news, now for the Advisories and Warnings.

There is a River Flood Warning in effect today until 1:00 a.m. Wednesday. While that may not have a n immediate direct effect on our little corner of the world, it will mean that the waters will move downstream and end up in the "Big Lake" as they pass through the channel on the way.

In addition, yet another Small Craft Advisory has been issued from St. Joseph to Manistee until 4:00 p.m. today. Conditions will be hazardous and will not be safe for small craft. Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.

Am I done? No! There is also another of those Gale Warnings in effect from 4:00 p.m. today until 1:00 a.m. Wednesday. Winds will only reach speeds of 10 - 20 knots with gusts up to 30 knots that can produce wave heights of three to six feet. A rather tame Gale Warning if you ask me.

But wait, there's more! There is also another Lakeshore Flood Advisory in effect from 7:00 p.m. today until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday. As usual, lakeshore properties, parking lots and low-lying areas will be flooded and erosion of those lakeshore properties is possible. Whew, now I'm done.

Yesterday was a rather mundane day. Dawn came by to do our house-cleaning and we took the fur-children for a walk. Mary used up some of the leftovers for lunch and made vegan macaroni and cheese to serve with the last of my vegan Italian sausages for dinner. I guess I'll have to make more sausages or something when I get time. More on that time issue later.

In the late afternoon yesterday, we ran some errands and made a stop so that I could take some pix of the moon in the late afternoon sky along with the rising waters in Spring Lake. I like how the pix I've chosen to include turned out. I hope you do too. Be sure to click on the images to enlarge them.

Not odd at this time of year, but a moon in a perfectly clear sky is something to see.
This is Mill Point Park in Spring Lake.
Same place, shooting directly in to the sun.
A different angle and focal length.
Same here.
Today is a tad more busy I am off to the library for my monthly Coffee and Coloring session from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Then, I have an appointment to have the sutures removed from my recent surgery @ 3:15 p.m. Since my medical license has yet to arrive, I'll offer my lay or non-professional opinion and say that the incision looks great. No redness, no pain, and no more pellet.

That may not seem like much for one day to those of you who have to go to work today, but I find that that is enough for me. Mary will be home in the morning doing that voodoo, that she do, so well, i e, knitting, cooking, or reading.

Ciao.
