Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 3:30 a.m. in "The City."

The current temperature is 41° under cloudy skies, still with windy conditions. We are about 13° warmer right now than we were yesterday at this time. Today's high is forecast to reach 43° under partly-cloudy skies with no significant snow in the forecast for several days. The sun will rise today @ 8:16 a.m. and set later @ 5:21 p.m.

There is still a River Flood Warning in effect until 7:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2020.

Wow, I just realized that I had the date of 2010 for thqt warning in my last blog. Oh well, that's the price we pay for living in a culture that relies on me for up to date information.

Another Small Craft Advisory is still in effect from St Joseph to Manistee from now until 7:00 p.m. tonight. Conditions will be hazardous will not be safe for small craft through at least midday. Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.

I wish I could offer good news on the football fortunes of the Wolverines of Michigan in their contest against the Crimson Tide of Alabama in the Citrus Bowl, but alas, I can't. The Wolverines looked competitive in the early going, but then the Tide rolled and the final score was 16 - 35, Bama. Ouch.

The Rose Bowl between the Ducks of Oregon and the Badgers of Wisconsin was more competitive for the entire game, but in the end, the Ducks defeated the Badgers by one point, 28 - 27. Once again, ouch.

I took advantage of the sunlight that was streaming in the windows of my studio yesterday. I put paint on canvas and made significant progress on my latest work. I am liking this one so far and I don't want to do anything that isn't supported by abundant natural lighting. So, I may have to wait until who knows when to add more paint. Sigh.

I gave up on that book I mentioned in my last blog. I just can't get into apocalyptic fiction the way that Mary can. I guess I just don't have that in my DNA.

Today is a sad day. I have to take down our Christmas tree and put it away for another year. I've added new ornaments and made additional display items so packing up will take longer. One good thing, Thanksgiving Day 2020, is only 329 days away. That means that I can set up our Christmas tree again in 330 days. Right now, that seems like a long way off, but I'll take it.

Mary has promised to go to the grocery store as I go about my sad duties.

In a bit of good news, the pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training in a scant 40 days! Yes my loyal readers, I'll be counting down the days from now until then and of course, it will soon be Opening Day of the MLB™ 2020 season! However, I'll hold off on adding any music for a few more weeks.

Today, I am going to kick back and just take it easy. The fur-children would like to go for a walk, but the snow-covered sidewalks are not conducive to our health, so It is unlikely that the fur-children will get their wish.

Otherwise, not much is on tap. Ciao.
