Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just after 4:00 a.m. in "The City."

The current temperature is 47° under clear skies. Today's high is forecast to reach 67°, also under clear skies, following our overnight low of 46°. The sun will rise today @ 7:50 a.m. and set later @ 7:14 p.m.

A Frost Warning will be in effect until 10:00 a.m. today for areas away from the "Big Lake." Fortunately, we are within one-mile of Lake Michigan, so we should be fine. However, it won't be long before the frost is on the pumpkin as the farmers used to say, or in our case, before the vast gardens of our palatial estate are done for the year. No more watering, but no more harvesting of fresh tomatoes and peppers either.

We had a great trip to the dentist yesterday. I know, the terms great trip and dentist would seem to be mutually exclusive, but we both came away with clean teeth and clean dental health reports. Plus, the trip home was great too, as we stopped at Tunnel Park in Holland took numerous pictures using two cameras and several lenses.

The "Big Lake" could be seen in all its beauty from the bluffs on her shores at Tunnel Park. We were once again reminded why people choose to live here. Yes, Michigan gets cold and snowy in the wintertime, but the other three seasons are so great, that Michiganders, both lifelong and newly transplanted like ourselves, have no need to wonder. I may change my mind this winter when the snow is piling up on our deck and in our shared driveway, but that's then and this is now.

So, without further ado, here are some of the pix we took.

Using my favorite medium range telephoto lens, I took this pic as we neared the tunnel from which Tunnel Park derives its name.
Same here, different focal length.
As seen with the naked eye and through the lens of the camera carried by our Senior Staff Photographer and looking south, there is a sailboat way out there.

The same sailboat with my telephoto lens on full zoom.

Our Senior Staff Photographer disappearing into the dune grasses in search of a shot.
This is true.
However, that didn't stop a tire from being washed onto the beach anyway.
Water seen through the grasses is very photogenic.
This was taken with my large and heavy telephoto lens looking north.
With a telephoto lens, waves far from shore seem to he huge and threatening.
Or not. But they are beautiful when seen through the grasses.
As you may recall, I am an avid photographer of empty playgrounds. They can symbolize the time of the day or year.
Shot from the lake side of the tunnel with my larger telephoto lens.
I'm not sure why, but this old water tower attracted my attention.

Otherwise, we stopped at Love Inc.™ the resale store in Spring Lake to pick up some decorative items for our kitchen cabinets. Then it was off to Stan's and finally to Taco Bell™ to pick up dinner. Of course, the fur-children were eagerly awaiting our arrival at home.

Today, I am unveiling my fall decorations, doing some kitchen magic, doing some indoor chores, and getting a few hairs cut. Mary will be going to the store for a few items while I am working and slaving. Well actually, she will be supervising the placement of those decorative items in the kitchen cabinets and trying to get her computer to respond to basic commands now that the software has been updated. I anticipate seeing her late in the day as her struggles come to an end. Ciao.
