Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 4:30 a.m. in "The City."

The current temperature is 53° under partly-cloudy skies. Today's high is forecast to reach 58°, following our overnight low of 45°. The sun will rise today @ 7:45 a.m. and set later @ 7:21 p.m.

A Small Craft Advisory is in effect until 8:00 a.m., accompanied by a new one, a River Flood Warning that will remain in effect until 8:00 a.m. October 9!

I had a great day yesterday. I made those aforementioned vegan Italian meatballs. I am nearly done with my work in the man-cave. I won't rush the results, but a few more brushstrokes and voila, nearly all the fall decorations will be ready for their debut. I have one additional decoration that is taking longer due to the complexity of my personal design, but I want it to be just right, so....

I signed up for a session at Hemlock Crossing County Park's Nature's Art-brush Series, entitled Autumn Splendor that will allow me to paint a fall scene in watercolors on canvas. This is scheduled to be an outdoor session, weather permitting.

Otherwise, the day was more crossword solving and that was about it. We walked with the fur-children to the library to drop off more of Mary's indexing books at the library's Cheap Stacks Bookstore. Now that Mary is officially retired, the books were able to be donated in case some young person wants to embark on a new career.

Mary has been clearing/cleaning her office cabinets and she found that her indexing career officially began in 2005. She also found notes and handouts from her previous career while she was cleaning. Oddly, there was an Illinois Lottery ticket from 2011 in there too. Of course, that ticket is no longer redeemable.

We traveled to the chiropractor and then to JWs for a snack and finally home to a pair of impatiently waiting fur-children whose dinner was overdue. We watched some TV before I came up to the media room to once again fall asleep in my recliner.

Today, just those fall decorations await and I may make an apple pie and some applesauce too. The amount of applesauce depends on my tolerance for the peeling process. Ciao.
