Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 3:00 a.m. in "The City."
I'm going to try once again to follow the KISS formula.
Yesterday's weather was mostly pleasant. We have a current temperature of 65° per the NWS and 70° per the DTWS. Later today, the NWS is forecasting a high of 83° under skies that are expected to be clear and sunny after the sun rises @ 6:28 a.m. and well before it sets at 9:12 p.m. No T-storms are in the forecast until Thursday evening, with a 50% confidence rating. The showers will continue until Friday morning with a 60% chance.
Sports news was hard to take. The Cubs lost to that other team from Chicago 4 - 5, despite a rally in the top of the 9th to tie the game. That other team scored a run in the bottom of the inning, for a win. That leaves the Cubs in sole possession of 1st place in the N. L. Central, 7.0 games ahead of the losing Cardinals, who have a record of 59 - 39. The Cubs and that other team, play again tonight @ 7:10 p.m.
The Tigers and my beloved Red Sox squared off last night in Fenway Park. The Tigers came away with the win, 4 - 2, while the Sox lost the same game 2 - 4. That means that the Tigers are still in 2nd place in the A. L. Central, with a record of 52 - 48, 5.5 games behind the losing Indians, while the Sox stayed in 2nd place too, now 2.5 games behind the victorious Orioles in the A. L. East. Those same teams play again tonight @ 7:10 p.m.
The Caps eked out a home win over the Burlington, IA Bees, 4 - 3. That moves the team to 14 - 14 in the Midwest League East, but they are still in 4th place. The Caps are off today before traveling to Ft. Wayne to face the TinCaps @ 7:05 p.m. Wednesday night.
The regular cast of locomotives came through on the RSTL. The morning southbound run occurred @ 11:32 a.m., with empty cars following locomotives 2019 and 2057. Those cars were two BCs, one with Union Pacific identification, two CHCs, and two DBTCs, that were bringing up the rear.
The northbound run occurred after we returned from Holland. That was @ 4:21 p.m. with the same locomotives towing two BCs, with one @ the end, nine CHCs with one of those being extra long, two DBTCs, and one DWTC.
We had a nice trip to Holland yesterday for our dental appointments. We made a short stop @ two ethnic grocery stores for some essential items. We made it home in time for Mary and I to do a combined edit on the index and then I soloed before we once again combined to finish and send the index on its way. Then we were off to JWs for dinner.
Today, I have my O/T appointment @ the hospital and then we'll do lunch before a quick grocery stop for some additional essentials. Otherwise, we have the usual morning safari with the intrepid one before I settle in to read and relax. Mary will be printing out the manuscript for the next index that I will be highlighting over the next several days.
Last night. Mary was enjoying the DNC convention coverage while I fell asleep upstairs in the media room. I made it to bed to fall asleep once again with Sugar nearby. Ciao.
