The current temperature is 37° under rainy-skies, with winds of 15 mph that make it feel more like 28°. Today's high temperature is forecast to be that that same 37°. As of now, the forecast calls for no rain until Sunday and that with only a 40% chance. We can expect to see high temperatures in the upper 30s, the lower to mid-40s, and perhaps the mid to lower 50s until April 26, when we should be permanently in the mid-50s and above!
Also in the forecast, the NWS is only including a Small Craft Advisory until 2:00 p.m. this afternoon. Thankfully, everything else is over and done.
Yesterday was rather uneventful. As has become the norm, we got up late, groomed ourselves to face the day, and then fed the fur-children and let them out to do their duty. Sometime late last night, Mary was able to place our next Fast Lane™ order for grocery items to be picked up late this month.
Once I had been outside with the fur-children and discovered that it had
indeed gotten colder and windier, I came back indoors and ventured
downstairs to check on my seedlings. Lo and behold, I am now the proud
farmer of tomatoes and peppers in abundance. If I talk to them, keep
them moist and not overwatered, we should be able to re-pot them and
then finally transplant them into the vast gardens around Mother's Day.
Given that the garden centers are closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic,
we've got a lot riding on my efforts.
I took this picture of the progress of the sweet pepper plants while I was in the man-cave.
I'm one proud man-cave farmer. |
Looks great, but not up to Mary's standards |
