Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 2:30 a.m in "The City."

I was pondering what winter might look like when it finally arrives here in W. MI. Well, I may soon get my question answered. That's because the NWS has issued a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY that will be in effect from 1:00 a.m. today until 7:00 a.m. Saturday. As of right now, the view out the WW (Weather Window) is clear with no snow in sight. If the snow comes, according to the NWS, it will be light in the morning hours today and then transition to heavy snow by evening, with accumulations of three to five inches possible! Plus, there is a chance that in some localities, six or more inches are possible.

Couple that forecast with the SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY that remains in effect from 7:00 a.m. today until 7:00 p.m. this evening, and conditions will not be favorable for man nor beast. The Gale Force Wind Warning that would have made this an exceptionally dangerous storm has been canceled. However, there will be strong enough winds to cause blowing snow and make driving conditions hazardous. Like nearly everywhere else in America, people will forget how to drive in the snow and public safety departments and towing companies everywhere will be very busy.

If you are interested, this is what Gale Force Winds and waves look like on the "Big Lake." It is a long video from YouTube™, but the scenes are always the same and the waves are always inviting to the surfers in their wet-suits on the "Third Coast."

John came by yesterday and did his usual meticulous job getting the Palatial Estate (PE) ready for winter. The bikes have been hung in the garage, the leaves have been raked around the rose bushes or bagged and hauled away, and the snow shovels are at the ready. No milk for John, but he did enjoy some of my chocolate-chip cookies before he left.

Mary made a vegan pepperoni from a recipe that I found on the internet, and then later, she used some of that to make a pizza for dinner. I pronounce both excellent. The pepperoni is a keeper, especially since I had her add additional pepper flakes to the mix to make it spicy pepperoni.  I complain when she adds too many flakes to her down and dirty spaghetti sauce, but that is spaghetti sauce, not pepperoni.

What would a blog from me be without some baseball news. The Cubs all-everything infielder, Javier Baez, has not yet been named the NL MVP, but he was  awarded his first Silver Slugger Award, given to players who have the kind of stats that Baez had in 2018! MVP! MVP! MVP!

I'd be remiss if I didn't give credit to the Red Sox' slugger, J. D. Martinez, for winning his 2nd Silver Slugger Award as the team's DH and as an outfielder. In addition, the Sox' Mookie Betts, also won an American League Silver Slugger Award as a an outfielder. Plus, he also won the Heart and Hustle Award. The award was created in 2005 as a way to honor active players who , "Demonstrate a passion for the game of baseball and best embody the values, spirit and tradition of the game." I couldn't agree more!

So today, the plan is to go to Holland, or not. Drop Ginger at daycare, or not. Or, watch the world go by, or not while reading. Choices, choices. ciao.
