Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 2:45 a.m. in "The City."
When I sat down to blog, it was just after 1:00 a.m.. However, I noticed that when we were at the car dealer, that the calendar on my Citizen's watch was incorrect. So, I decided that I'd reset it while I was at my desk. Over one and one-half-hours later, an hour and a half that I'll never get back, I think I've got it.
At any rate, now that that activity is over, I'm going to attempt to make this a shorter than ususal blog, at least shorter than the experience of buying/leasing a new car. Not that that experience was painful, yesterday, just lengthy. I mention that, because that's what we did yesterday afternoon/evening. After our experience at that too-large for its own good dealer group last Friday, getting a simple oil change and tire rotation, leasing a new car turned out to be very easy. Out with the old, in with the new, so to speak.
We leased a 2018 Jeep Renegade, which we have named Rene. Not original, but suitable. Of course, we have all of about 20 miles on the odometer, but so far, we like her. The salesman took our pic standing beside her and so I've included that pic here.
Rene is a color called Hyper Green. Mary and I wanted something other than the silver/metallic color of our last two cars, and we got it! She has AWD and lots of bells and whistles, most of which require a 5th grader to uncover and explain to us.
Once we were done at the dealership, we came home to feed the fur-children. We lest them once again, and went across the bridge to have my glasses repaired, once again. Sometimes, I feel like a grade-school age student who is forever breaking his glasses. A quick repair from the tech at the store where I bought the glasses and we were on the road again. We stopped @ Stan's and then home for the night.
We have a great deal to clear out of Rene and also a stop at our safety deposit box to retrieve the title to our old car. Along with some other items that belong to him, we'll drop those off at the dealership after my orthopedist appointment.
I expect that I'll be getting a diagnosis that includes surgery on my aching left-shoulder. I'd like it to be otherwise, but the symptoms are very similar to those I experienced before the surgery on my right-shoulder several years ago. Oh well, 67 may be the new 57, but nonetheless, that doesn't alter the fact that I'm getting older.
We have a current temperature of 31°. which coincidentally will be today's high temperature. In addition, the forecast from the NWS is calling for snow-showers this morning with a 50% chance.
So today, our day is set, with that orthopedic appointment, a walk with STWD, and dropping Ginger at daycare so that Sugar doesn't have to be restricted to the downstairs to keep Ginger company and out of trouble. The sun will rise @ 7:34 a.m. and set later @ 5:22 p.m. Ciao.
