Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 2:00 a.m. in "The City."

Dear loyal readers; I took the night off yesterday because I was just plain worn out from my activities on Tuesday. I went to a pencil drawing session at the library, during which I worked on shading and texturing using colored pencils. While there was no formal instruction, there were templates to use that gave me hints/suggestions regarding what to draw and borders to work inside. I guess that it helps people like myself who have good ideas on what I'd like to draw, but for whom perspective and composition can be challenging. These are once per month sessions, just like my monthly Irish Jam sessions. I liked it. Plus, I voted.

I don't know how others feel about the results of the elections/voting on Tuesday, but here in Michigan, various referenda passed, including one that legalizes recreational marijuana use to go with the medical marijuana  lkaw that is already in effect. That makes MI the first Midwest state to do so. Another proposal that passed, gave the power to redistrict Congressional districts to a public commission over the GOP controlled state legislature. Lastly, what may be the best referendum passed, voters in Michigan will now be automatically registered to vote at the Secretary of State's office unless they decline to register. Oh, it will also be OK to vote a straight ticket too. There were also other measures on the ballot to fund schools and other things, like road repairs.

We have a current temperature of 38° with cloudy-skies that will give way to partly-cloudy skies later this afternoon with some sun in evidence. However, there is also another Small Craft Advisiory in effect issued by the NWS for the "Big Lake", Lake Michigan, from Holland to GH.Win ds of 10 to 15 knots will drive wave heights of anywhere from five to seven feet. Those waves are expected to diminish by the break of day. However, as always, mariners with limited experience and/or small craft are strongly advised to stay out of the "Big Lake."

We had a good time at our history book club session yesterday. I baked cookies and we had a rousing discussion about labor issues ion the U.S., both current and in the last century.

Today's high will reach all the way up to 40°, however there is a slight chance of snow showers or rain in the forecast too for the late afternoon. The sun will rise today @ 7:28 a.m. and set later @ 5:27 p.m. We have John, our handyman, coming by to do some of the outdoor chores that I can't do or don't care to do, such as hanging up the bikes and doing a fall clean-up. Of course, that fall clean-up is weather dependent.

Today we don't have much on tap, finally. A walk with the fur-children and some time with "The Girls" is in order for me. Mary has some plans too, but I don't remember what they are, Ciao.
