Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 2:30 a.m. in "The City."

We have a current temperature of 31° under cloudy-skies. In addition, once again, there is a Small Craft Warning in effect from now until 1:00 a.m. Monday. Waves of 4 to 6 feet this morning will give way to waves of only 2 to 4 feet by tonight on the "Big Lake.". The sun will rise today @ 7:31 a.m. and set later @ 5:24 p.m.

I made another batch of my famous vegan Italian meatballs yesterday. Naturally, Mary had to incorporate some of them into our dinner of spaghetti and meatballs last evening. I also made two jars of potato leek soup from a recipe I found on the internet. This soup used some of the vegetable broth that I'd made early yesterday morning along with some of our home-grown potatoes and store-bought leeks. It smells great and should be part of our dinner tonight.

We traveled to Hemlock Crossing County Park yesterday afternoon to see that presentation on the owls of Michigan. I was going to spend my day watching college football, but once I saw that the MSU Spartans were being trounced by the Ohio State Buckeyes, I decided that it was time to do something else with Mary. I'm glad I did, because the presentation was excellent and the final score was 6 - 26

On the way home, we stopped in Spring Lake to pick up some bread and make a stop at Stan's Bar and Grill for some adult libations and to watch part of the game between the Wolverines of Michigan and the Scarlet Knights of Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights were never in the game, as the Wolverines won, 42 - 7. They now have a record of 9 - 1, and the lead the Big 10 East with a record of 7 - 0, while the Buckeyes of OSU have a conference record of 6 - 1. By the by, the Spartans have a 4 - 2 conference record.

Today, I plan to go to the Goodrich Grand Haven 9 theater this afernoon to see the movie Patton, starring George C. Scott as Patton. I've been a fan of this movie since a friend of mine encouraged me to join him in downtown Chicago on a very foggy day, 48 years ago. Mary has no interest in seeing this movie, preferring to view old reruns of The X-files on Hulu. Her loss, I say.

We should be able to get the fur-children out for a walk this morning as the sidewalks are clear, even though the skies will be mostly-cloudy. However, although the temperature will rise to a balmy 39°, with winds in the 12 to 14 mph range, it will feel colder.

That's enough for today. Ciao.
