Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 2:30 a.m. in "The City."

The current temperature is 30° under skies that are delivering the first significant snowfall of the season. That snow will taper off later this morning, but may return later today with a 50% probability.

Today's high is forecast to reach 33°. The sun will rise today @ 7:26 a.m. and set later @ 5:29 p.m.
There is a Small Craft Advisory for the "Big Lake" in effect until 1:00 p.m. Friday. Unless you are a well trained sailor or a surfer, though why anyone who is would be out on the "Big lake", stay off water! Wind speeds may reach as high as 25 knots and the waves may reach six feet in height.

Yesterday was a busy day here at the manse. We had our semi-annual carpet cleaning throughout the house. Mary dropped Ginger at daycare and STWD spent the afternoon in the bathroom while the people worked. All went well, as the husband/wife team from Dura-Steam™ were very professional and efficient.

We took a trip to Coopersville after they finished to allow the carpets a chance to dry more fully. No real need, just a destination to kill time. I took my camera along for the ride and took some pix of the fallow farm fields, the old barns, and some of the farm equipment between here and there. Plus, I took some pix of our own fair city and some of the sights that always look inviting here.

Farms in Michigan are quiet this time of year.

A chance for farmers to rest and get ready for next spring.

The equipment is resting too.

A shot of our own GHBLP power plant as it winds up its long run and uses up the coal reserves on site.

A nice juxtaposition of snow on the roof of the coal tipple and autumn leaves on the trees along Harbor Dr.

Some tress are nearly bare of their leaves, while others are still leaf filled.

Not bad when I took this pic, but the snow is accumulating now.

Some deer feasting on the corn left behind after harvest.
Otherwise, not much is/was happening. My yak is starting to feel better after loading STWD into the car for her doctor's appointment on Tuesday. I have to remind myself that I can't lift her or other objects heavier than a gallon of water. Plus, too much time on my feet or too much sitting in chairs not made for people of my dimensions are never a good idea.

Today, I plan to help Mary where I can with returning things to their proper places here in the manse. That includes my guitar collection, my art easel and some small furniture items displaced by the carpet cleaning both up and downstairs. Collectively, we can do those tasks.

Otherwise, just an appointment at the chiropractor today. Ciao.
