Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 3:30 a.m. in "The City."

The current temperature is 39° under rainy skies. Today's high is forecast to reach only 42°! The sun will rise today @ 8:20 a.m. and set later @ 6:35 p.m.

There is a Small Craft Advisory for the "Big Lake" still in effect until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. You know what that means. If you don't have a very large ship or if you don't know what you are doing, stay off the water. Plus, the NWS has issued a River Flood for most of the counties in West MI starting today @ 7:00 a.m. and continuing until 7:00 a.m. Sunday.

Don't forget, that later tonight/early Sunday morning, it will be time to change your clocks and return to standard time. I always hate this time of year, because changing my Citizens Eco-Drive watch is always a challenge. Otherwise, there are myriad clocks throughout the manse that require manual resetting. Oh well, I'm sure I'll be up at the appropriate time.

The fur-children decided on this rainy early-morning, especially Ginger, that they needed to go out. Apparently, an 8:00 p.m. out wasn't enough for them. Ginger will normally sleep when I get up, so it was a need, not a want.

The Grand Haven HS Buccaneers went to Grandville, MI to face the Grandville Bulldogs. The Buccaneers were the underdogs, but they came away with a 28 - 7 win. Sadly, the Lakers of Spring Lake HS traveled to Byron Center, MI and were thoroughly outplayed by the Byron Center Bulldogs, losing the game 14 - 49.

Today, there are only two games of note on the college football schedule. The 6 - 2 Wolverines of MI are @ Maryland to face the 3 - 5 Terrapins @ 12:00 p.m. The 3 - 5 Huskies of NIU travel to Mt. Pleasant, MI to face the 5 - 4 Chippewas of Central Michigan University. The 4 - 4 MSU Spartans have the day off before they welcome the Fighting Illini to Spartan Stadium in East Lansing, MI next Saturday @ 3:30 p.m.

Here in Michigan, the big game is the Wolverines of MI versus the Spartans on November 16, with the game time as yet unannounced. That game draws great interest throughout Western Michigan.

Otherwise, not much happened yesterday. I read more, did some calligraphy, worked on a crossword, and collectively, we took the fur-children to the groomer for a pawdicure. We also took them for a walk afterwards. Given the weather forecast for today, no walk is likely today.

We decided that a trip across the bridge to Stan's and The Village Baker was in order, but that was about it. It was time to head home, feed the fur-children and then watch some TV and eat dinner. I tired and came upstairs to fall asleep after I let the fur-children out for an obviously too-early final out.

Later today, we need to log-on shortly after 9:00 a.m. to try to score tickets for the annual "America's Tallest Singing Christmas Tree." This annual performance features the Mona Shores, MI High School Orchestra and Chorus. Over 250 students sing an eclectic mix of seasonal favorites from a wide-variety of genres while standing in a 67 foot tall tree covered with over 25,000 lights! The historic Frauenthal Theater. where the performances will be held, is a beautiful venue in downtown Muskegon. Tickets sell out fast, so here's hoping, since we plan to get tickets for a Sunday matinee..

This afternoon, we have a 2:00 p.m. appointment at The Camera Store for a checkup on my Olympus DSLR camera performed by a factory technician from Olympus USA. This is a great opportunity to have my camera and my favorite lens cleaned and checked. Then, we'll take advantage of yet another pair of coupons from that big-box arts and crafts store in Norton Shores. You can never have too much paint nor too many brushes.

That should be enough activity for one day. Ciao.
