Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 3:00 a.m. in "The City."

The current temperature is 37° as we head down to the overnight low of 35° under cloudy skies. Today's high is forecast to reach a more temperate 47°. The sun will rise today @ 7:21 a.m. and set later @ 5:14 p.m. Yes my loyal readers, if you were up @ 2:00 a.m., as I too often am, you remembered to reset your clocks for standard time by moving them back one hour.

There is a Small Craft Advisory for the "Big Lake" still in effect until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. You know what that means. If you don't have a very large ship or if you don't know what you are doing, stay off the water. There are no additional warnings in effect.

However, the "Fire Season" in California is no longer a season, it is now a 24/7, 365 activity from Northern to Southern CA. Now, the fire-fighters are also having to contend with unmanned drones flying over the fires, attempting to take pictures. These are unauthorized drones that forced the grounding of aircraft, especially helicopters, that were dropping water and other fire retardants on the wildfires in CA. At this time, there has been no mention of the source for the drones. They could have been launched by curious civilians, paparazzi, or "legitimate" news organizations. In any event, they are interfering with the activities of Cal Fire in their efforts to stop the destruction.

Sports news yesterday went as expected. The Wolverines of Michigan crushed the Terrapins of Maryland yesterday afternoon, 38 - 7.

Sadly, the Huskies of NIU were themselves crushed, in their case by the Central Michigan Chippewas, 10 - 48.

If you are a fan of the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, they eked out a victory over the Hokies of Virginia Tech, 21 - 20. The Irish gave up a 98 yard fumble return near the end of the first-half that nearly spelled doom for the Irish. A last minute drive for a TD in the second-half and the ensuing extra-point gave the Irish the win.

And for those of you who follow the Fighting Illini of Illinois, they cruised their way to a 38 - 10 win over the Scarlet Knights of Rutgers.

We had a very productive afternoon yesterday. We traveled to The Camera Store for that check-up and cleaning of my Olympus DSLR camera. The technician from Olympus updated the firmware and cleaned all of the lenses and associated parts. There was also a presentation going being given regarding the use of the Olympus cameras and I listened in and learned something new as Mary read more pages from The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. She finished the book when we got home.

We also made it to two big-box arts and crafts stores in Norton Shores where we got everything we desired and some things we hadn't planned on.

Along the way, I took some pix from our moving vehicle of clouds and whatever else caught my fancy. I'll toss in a couple of pix here.

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Norton Shores.

An industrial shot from nearby.

I liked it/them.

Same here.
Finally, a stop at Health Hutt for some specialty grocery items, including my favorite vegan non-dairy yogurt and then JWs for a light snack and libations. Mary obliged me at home by making Tater Tots™ and vegan sausages for dinner. I came up to watch TV after dinner and promptly fell asleep.

Today, we hope to do as little as possible outside of a walk with the fur-children, reading the weekend newspaper, some light kitchen activities. Wait, that sounds like more than a little. Ciao.
