Good morning GH. It is just after 3:00 AM here in our fair city, and the snow has stopped for awhile. However, with the blowing wind, the snow is piling up in our front area. The porch steps are covered and the sidewalk is missing in action. Currently, the temperature showing on the science station in the Weather Window and on the desktop display is eighteen degrees. I haven't looked at the back deck or the shared driveway, but they are likely lost in action too.
Sugar the Weather Dog is sleeping soundly next to the bed, so I doubt if anything odd is on the weather horizon. Of course tomorrow, I will have to get that snow moved again, and that usually saps me for the day. Plus, with the snow-blower still partially disabled, I will have to manually turn the discharge chute. But, it could be worse. If I didn't have that machine, I'd have to shovel everything. I'll take additional pictures in the AM, before I begin the removal process and then again when I am done. For now, I have included some pictures from the early part of the storm yesterday.
I ended up canceling my activity at the library last evening, due to the blowing snow and treacherous roads. Here in Western Michigan, there were numerous accidents near Detroit, four fatalities, and some nearly fatal accidents closer to home as people spun out in their SUVs while trying to demonstrate their driving prowess. One woman succeeded in hitting two young men on their way to the bus stop and then slamming into a tree. Go slow? Why? For that matter, what possesses anyone to go out and drive on some of these highways. Unless you are a doctor/hospital worker, lawyer, or Indian Chief, it probably can wait, no matter what it is. We had two elderly women crash the other day, with I believe one fatality when we had that last big snow. Why a 60 something was driving an 80 something around on a snowy morning I'll never know. I hope that the elder passenger had to get to a life saving treatment of some type.
Anyway, I have rambled on long enough, so I'll get those pictures posted, head back to bed, and await...Tea time, Sugar's morning romp in the snow, and last but not least, the sheer joy of snow removal. One thing is certain, when I got up yesterday, our recycling bin had been blown onto the railroad tracks and disgorged its entire contents along the tracks in the process. But, I was able to recover the bin, so that's all good. I should mention that the city plows have been by, at least in the street, so now the end of the driveway is once again buried. Update, they have gone by again in the last few minutes, about 4:00 AM, and now the driveway is even more buried.

As you can see, the menagerie is once again snow bound.

Our shared driveway space, with my neighbor's path beginning to disappear.

More of that snow covered menagerie.
