Good early morning GH. It is closing on 5:00 AM here in our snow covered city, and it is currently 18 degrees. Yesterday I think that I moved another six inches of newly fallen snow. But, I am getting into the winter thing otherwise. Fortunately, it is very light snow due to the lower temperatures, except the snow that the city deposits at the end of our shared driveway. That is kind of on the heavy side. Fortunately for me, my neighbor to the west came by with his large snowblower and cleared some of the snow at the end of the driveway, albeit not necessarily the heavy stuff. What will happen in a few years, I don't know, but that is like I always say, something that only time will tell.
Sugar the Weather Dog is currently asleep in the upstairs hide-e-hole, and that is her prerogative. For whatever reason, she has decided to eschew the use of any bed upstairs, so she makes her bed and takes her chances. A nice pay on a concept there, I think.
I have to remind myself to shop for an ice scraper that I can use to break up some of the ice that forms near the end of the driveway. Still, it doesn't take all that long to clear, just uses a lot of muscle power.
Mary was kind to my tired old body yesterday. When I came in she had prepared cocoa for me and it hit the spot. Since one can't always have soup, which I probably would if I could, cocoa is a nice substitute.
Speaking of soup, we dropped off some squash and kale soup with Sally the other day. I hope she likes it. It was tough to give soup away, let me tell you. I have to make more. Fortunately for me, I am getting good at the soup preparation task. Not easy and very preparation intensive, but the end result is so rewarding. Since I don't have any kale, I may have to switch to onion and potato, because I have potatoes and onions the two major ingredients. I wonder how it would be with squash? I also have a new garlic press to work with, since the older one broke under pressure. Mary ordered an all steel one-piece variety that should stand up to the pressure.
I am getting tired and it is therefore time for bed, again. I am listening to Celtic music on the internet service, and I find it soothing. We haven't had any trains tonight, but there were plenty on Saturday. Like the Celtic music, I find the trains soothing. No pictures this time around. Chances are that they are getting boring. I guess that you have to be here to fully appreciate the snowfall. The county person in charge of such things, noted in a newsflash, that the drawbridge ice jam had broken and the ice floes were heading out to the big lake. Apparently, she was about to call for an emergency response of some sort. However, should the snow come again, which was predicted but which has not yet happened, I'll take more pictures. So, I'll await...Tea time and go back to bed to also await UP. Ciao.
