Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 6:00 a.m. in "The City."

A current temperature of 57° doesn't begin to tell the weather story here in the Tri-Cities area. We have three different notifications from the NWS, a Beach Hazard Statement, a Gale Warning, that precipitated that Beach Hazard Statement, and a Lakeshore Flood Advisory, in effect until 8:00 p.m. for the Beach Hazard Statement, and the Lakeshore Flood Advisory and 4:00 p.m. for that Gale Warning. The high water levels on the "Big Lake", driven by those Gale Force winds of 35 - 47 knots, may produce heavy erosion of the shoreline. They will produce wave heights of 5 - 9 feet!

Of course, that means that the Beach Hazard Statement was also produced by those winds, making swimming very hazardous. That means, is that if you aren't an experienced sailor with a properly equipped vessel, or if you have no reason to go into the waters, DON'T!

The sun rose @ 6:04 a.m. and it will set @ 9:25 p.m.. In between, the high temperature will only reach 60°, a full five degrees colder than yesterday. I guess I am back to my long jeans and a warmer top.

Baseball news yesterday was once again as expected. The 2nd place in the NL Central Cubs, hammered the Rockies yesterday. 10 - 1. Several batters were hit by pitches, and the Cubs' bats came to life for winning pitcher, Cole Hamels. Tonight's game between the Cubs and the Dodgers will begin @ 10:10 p.m. EDT, as Jon Lester takes the mound for the Cubs and Clayton Kershaw gets the ball for the Dodgers.

My beloved 3rd place in the AL East Red Sox, used great hitting by Andrew Benintendi and a bases loaded walk-off walk by Mookie Betts, to win their game over the Rangers, 4 - 3. Tonight's game between the Sox and the Rangers begins @ 7:10 p.m. David Price will start for the Sox, while Adrian Sampson hurls for the Rangers.

The 4th place Tigers strung some solid relief pitching performances together, to eke out a win over the hapless and last place in the AL Central Royals, 3 - 2. The Tigers and the Royals go again tonight @ 8:05 p, m., as the Tigers' Matthew Boyd pitches against the Royals' Homer Bailey. If ever a pitcher's name evoked memories of cartoons and old movies, this one is it.

The woeful West MI WhiteCaps lost, again, to the nearly as woeful Dayton Dragons, in Dayton, 2 - 5. The Caps are trying to move up and catch the 6th place Dragons, but that isn't likely with this type of performance. The Caps and the Dragons take the field again tonight @ 7:00 p.m. Who pitches doesn't really matter, does it?

Yesterday was an average day. Mary went to the grocery store before we went north to purchase some new bedding. Later, she made her soon to be famous green bean casserole with water chestnuts, based on an old family recipe. However, I can't tell you which old family that was, since the book from which she adapted her version of that casserole was published in the 1970s and the source of that recipe is another of those mysteries for the ages.

I washed the king-size comforter, for 2nd time this week, as Ginger christened it early yesterday. It was her unintended christening that prompted us to buy new bedding. Mary has been meaning to do that, but now she had a reason. I did those indoor chores, wrestled the bedding back onto the bed in two out of three falls for the win, and made vegan sausages. Oh, it rained.

Today will be somewhat similar, as the NWS is forecasting more rain throughout the day and evening. I'll stay in and do more reading, more coloring, more guitar playing, and more of nothing before the chiropractor's appointment this afternoon. Mary will be here/there too, after she does that which she planned to do, whatever that may be. Ciao
