Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 1:30 a.m. in "The City." I don't need the NWS to tell me that it is snowing. I was downstairs with the fur children for what we hope is their final out and I can see that our deck is covered in snow. Plus, my view out of our own front door allows me to see what used to be the end of our driveway, and our front porch, which is also covered with snow. That tells me all that I need to know.

The NWS has issued a Small Craft Advisory that went into effect following the end of the Gale Warning @ 10:00 p.m. last night. The Small Craft Advisory is from St. Joseph to Manistee and it will be in effect until 1:00 a.m. Friday. Wind speeds of 15 - 30 knots and waves of 6 to 11 feet are possible.

What is more important is that the NWS has continued a Winter Storm Warning for southwest and south-central Michigan until 10:00 a.m. Friday. As I understand it, additional snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches are possible, making driving conditions hazardous. Ya think? Apparently, our weather sweet spot here in GH on the shores of Lake Michigan has turned into a less than sweet spot.

But back to the regular weather forecast. We have a current temperature of 28°, but it feels like 13° with strong winds out of the northeast blowing @ 20 mph. Today's high temperature will reach only 26° with an overnight low temperature of 14 ° as the snow continues to fall. The sun will rise @ 8:16 a.m. and set tonight @ 5:25 p.m.

Otherwise, not much happened yesterday. I read more from our shared book At War With Government, plus I finished my latest large-print novel, David Baldacci's Hells Corner. Now, I am just about to start another novel. We collectively finished the indoor chores and Mary did more cross-stitching and listening to her own book.

I also took time to organize my desk drawer and my paint supplies cart too. I've been meaning to get to that for a few weeks, so I'm happy to say that both tasks are now complete.

Speaking of books, the Loutit District Library closed yesterday @ 3:00 p.m. due to "Inclement Weather" and will be reopening as conditions improve.

Did you know, that Catholic Pope Francis issued a statement that said that couples who adopt pets instead of having children are being selfish. Say what?

Today looks like a good day to stay inside, wait for the snow removal service and do more reading and little else. With the rapid spread of the Omicron version of the Covid-19 virus, perhaps staying indoors for a couple of days is a good thing.

By the by, I am listening to Coast to Coast AM with George Noory right now. It has been a long time since I have done that. Not much has changed. There are still people out there who believe in UFOs and aliens. What a world. I think I'm done now. Ciao.
