Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 1:30 a.m. in "The City. You've probably noticed that my blogs are coming about two days apart these days. That's because I have so many tings to do that I have to find a place to cut down, so...

We have a current temperature of 61° that feels like 61° with a wind out of the north @ 5 mph, Coincidentally that 61° mark will be our overnight low with no advisories, watches, warnings, statements, nor alerts in the forecast. Today's high temperature will be about 6° warmer than yesterday. at 76°, with an overnight low of 70°. The sun will rise @ 6:10 a.m. and set later @ 9:27 p.m.

Not a good day for most of my baseball world. The Cubs lost their seventh straight, 1 - 2 to the Reds,  making the Cubs likely more of a seller than a buyer as the trading deadline approaches. Unlike the military, baseball teams, with some restrictions, can move personnel around and go to battle with a new team. The Cubs and the Reds go again this afternoon @ 4:10 p.m. EDT as RHP Adbert Alzolay, 4 - 7 gets the start for the north-siders.

My beloved Red Sox fared better, defeating the As, 3 - 2 in 10 innings. Rafael Devers and the X-man, Xander Bogaerts, were named as All-Star Game starters for the American League. The Sox and the As go again tonight  @ 7:15 p.m. with RHP Garrett Richards, 4 - 5 on the mound for the Sox.

The Tigers looked good for a short time when that other team from Chicago came to Comerica Park. The Tigers pulled starter Casey Mize after three innings to keep his arm from getting too sore. With the Tigers going nowhere this season, saving him for future seasons and wins seems like a good plan.

The Tigers went on to lose to that other team, 2 - 8. Those two teams will meet again this afternoon @ 4:10 p.m. EDT, when LHP Tarik Skubal, 4 - 7 gets his next start for the Tigers.

The Caps were outgunned by the Chiefs last night, 4 - 7. The Caps and the Chiefs play again tonight @ 7:35 p.m.

We took a photo-safari yesterday. But first, we stopped to weed and water the auxiliary garden before we ran one errand and then took a road never before traveled, ending up at P.J. Hoffmaster State Park.

You know that you have visited often, when the young woman checking cars at the entrance waves you though with a cheery, "You're okay, I recognize your car." I guess that a bright, lime-green Jeep Renegade is easy to remember.

At any rate, we took a short stroll on one of the paths in the park to preserve my yak and I took some pix of the paths and of the flora to be found there.

This road led to the picnic shelter and the path we walked.

This trail looks steeper than it was.

The temperature was perfect for a woodland hike.

Behind the picnic shelter, was this large tree that had been felled by the staff at the park.

One of the many trails we had to choose from.

Same here.

The sun was bright, but I learned a neat setting during a video seminar Thursday evening from Olympus Visionary, Jay Dickman, a Pulitzer Prize winning photographer, who has taken pix all over the globe for the National Geographic.  I like the final result.

Back at the manse, these are Asian Lilies are growing in front of our neighbors. Our lilies are pink and white, versus these bright-orange lilies.

Since we weeded and watered yesterday, both here at the manse and at the auxiliary gardens, today will be a day of indoor chores, reading, crossword solving, music, and whatever comes our way. Yeah, we gotta go make it happen...Oops, I was channeling again, this time from the 1969 classic movie, Easy Rider and the song, Born To Be Wild  by the band, Steppenwolf

So, here is a link to that song from YouTube™.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMbATaj7Il8 Ciao.
