Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 5:30 a.m. in "The City."

We have a current temperature of 40° under cloudy-skies that feels more like 33° with a wind out of the north @ 12 mph. Today's high temperature is forecast by the NWS to reach 45° with rain showers this morning  and clearing skies this afternoon and overnight low of 36°.

That aforementioned Small Craft Advisory is now in effect from St. Joseph to Manistee, with wind speeds predicted to be between 10 and 20 knots with gusts possible to 30 knots and waves from 4 to 7 feet in height until 2 a.m. tomorrow.

The sun will rise this  morning @ 7:02 a.m. and set this evening @ 8:27 p.m.

In local news, the Grand Haven City Council announced that the Fourth of July fireworks will be canceled this year due to the rising number of Covid-19 cases and  hospitalizations showing up here in West Michigan and our own Ottawa, County.

In baseball news, my beloved 8 - 3 Red Sox won their eighth straight, defeating the 5 - 6 Twins, 3 - 2 to run winning RHP Nathan Eovaldi's record to 2 - 1. The Sox close out their series with the Twins today @ 1:10 p.m. EDT, when RHP Garrett Richards, 0 - 1, makes his next start.

The 6 - 6 Tigers swept the 6 - 6 Astros last night with a 6 - 4 win, as RHP Michael Fulmer got his first win. The Tigers move on to Oakland to face the 5 - 7 As tonight, when RHP Tarik Skubal, 0 - 1 makes his next start @ 9:40 p.m. EDT.

The now 5 - 7 Cubs were never in the game yesterday, as they fell to the 7 - 5 Brewers, 0 - 7. The Cubs could not get any runs and their relief corps was like Swiss Cheese. RHP Jake Arrieta. 2 - 1, was not able to stop the Brewers attack either, as he took the loss. The Cubs are off until Friday when they welcome the 4 - 8 Braves to the Friendly Confines for a 2:20 p.m. EDT start as a pitcher TBD makes the start. The Cubs are scrambling to overcome the effects of positive Covid-19 tests and inactive players.

Ginger came back from her session at the spa yesterday and she looks terrific. Mary and I decided we did okay with Ginger over the last 13 months, but with no training nor skills at dog-grooming, we were lucky that the professionals could work their magic and repair our efforts.

Otherwise, not much is happening. I am nearly finished with my with my latest painting.

We took a lot of time to make vegan Cajun Jambalaya yesterday. It came out great, but it was a lot of work. That looks like enough for one day. Ciao.
