Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 4:30 a.m. in "The City."

This morning, when I woke up around 3:00 a.m., there was the sound of thunder that had driven STWD to her hide-e-hole. Ginger was sleeping soundly, as usual. I decided to watch some early morning TV and then sit down to blog if I couldn't get back to sleep. I guess the result is clearly in  evidence.

We have a current temperature of 54° with light rain falling. Later this morning, there is a 90% chance for additional rain and also a strong chance for dense fog in part of our little corner of the world. That's according to a Special Weather Statement issued by the NWS about one-hour ago.  The sun will rise into those foggy-skies @ 7:50 a.m. and set later @ 7:14 p.m.  In between, the NWS is forecasting a high temperature of 74°!

The Lions beat the Packers yesterday, 31 - 23, to move the Lions record to 2 - 3, and the Packers record to 2 - 2- 1. Aaron Rodgers, the starting QB for the Packers, is frustrated by the lack of offense by the Packers, while some of the team's players are frustrated with Rodgers' sub-par performance. Is there a slight hint of dissension in Green Bay? Duh!

In baseball, the Brewers swept the Rockies yesterday with a 6 - 0 win over the Rockies in their best of five NLDS series. The Brewers may, or may not, be for real. They await the winner of the NLDS series between the Dodgers and Braves whose series resumes today @ 4:30 a.m. The Dodgers have a 2 - 1 lead over the Braves.

My beloved Red Sox are tied with the Yankees in their ALDS series @ 1 - 1. The Sox and the Yankees play tonight @ 7:40 p.m. in Yankee Stadium. The winner of that series goes on to meet the winner of the other ALDS series between the Astros and the Indians, which resumes today @ 1:30 p.m. in Cleveland. The Astros are up 2 - 1.

We got a few things done yesterday following our late wake-up time. We walked the fur-children and did some reading. I started a new novel and so far, I am liking it. I also ordered some additional books from the library to back up my reading list. Collectively, we made a reservation for the local production of Annie, presented by the Central Park Players @ the Grand Haven Community Center.
That venue is located directly across the street from Grand Haven's Central Park, hence their name, The Central Park Players. We also made a hotel reservation in GR for our overnight stay when we see the Grand Rapids Ballet Company perform later this month.

We ended our day @ our favorite watering hole, after which I retired to the Media Room, while Mary stayed downstairs to watch more apocalyptic movies. I was happy watching sports and reading.

Today, we have a small number of errands to run and little else. A possible walk with the fur-children, weather-dependent. However, this being Columbus Day, a holiday for the USPS, there is no Monday edition of the Grand Haven Tribune, as the Tribune is now delivered by the USPS. Part of the deal between the USPS and the Tribune, is that the Tribune is not published on those postal holidays. Ciao.
