Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 12:30 a.m. in "The City."
Not much was happening when I stepped into the kitchen to make the Coleslaw for lunch. Mary had gone to the bakery for some bread and asked me to make the Coleslaw in any way that I liked. So I did. While she was gone, the latest incarnation of her roast beest was in the Crockpot™. I made what I think was good Coleslaw and then when Mary returned, she found that there was not enough soy-based meat to go on both sandwiches, so I had some faux turkey and barbecue tofu on mine while Mary had the remainder of the last beest. I liked my mixed meat sandwiches.
I didn't accomplish much yesterday. I played with the girls for a short time, and then we went out to run some errands. A stop at the Post to drop off some paperwork and then on to the grocery store in Spring Lake for a few groceries. We also stopped at the fabric store to get some cover material for the couch which STWD has decided is once again fair game. A quick stop @ the favorite watering hole on the other side of the bridge and then home.
A dinner of bean dip with chips and then NCIS, Bull, and NCIS New Orleans. Bull introduced us to the players in this new program as did both NCIS and NCIS New Orleans. I think that Mary likes Bull starring Michael Weatherly and so do I.
It was a hot and humid day here in West Michigan when I walked STWD while Mary chatted. The local meteorologists are promising that the hot days are nearly over and I hope that they are right. We have a current temperature of 64° under mostly cloudy skies. As of now, the NWS is forecasting T-storms for the morning hours with 50% confidence. We shall see. If so, I won't have to water.
Sports news yesterday was all positive. The Cubs won 6 - 1 over the Reds behind a strong pitching performance by Jon Lester. The Cubs have a record of 96 - 55 in the NL Central. The play the Reds again tonight @ 8:05 p.m.
The Tigers also won their game by a score of 8 - 1 over the Twins. Miggy, and James McCann contributed home runs to the final outcome. The Tigers are still in 2nd place in the AL Central with a record of 80 - 70. Alas, the Indians also won, so the Tigers are still seven games back. The Tigers play the Twins again tonight @ 8:10 p.m.
My beloved Red Sox are solidly in 1st place in the AL East with a record of 87 - 64 following their 5 - 2 win over the 3rd place Orioles that gives the Sox a lead of five full games over the Orioles. The 2nd place Blue Jays are still playing in Seattle, so they are 4.5 games behind the Sox, pending the outcome of their game. The Sox and the Orioles play again tonight @ 7:05 p.m.
We have no plans for later today, so I may get to that reading I've been wanting to do. So many books, so little time. Mary has some crafty things to do and then she too wants to read. I guess when you get up @ 11:30 a.m., the day easily gets away from you.
The sun will rise @ 7:31 a.m. and set @ 7:43 p.m. Ciao.
