Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 5:45 a.m. in "The City."

The NWS is reporting a current temperature under clear-skies of 62° with a "Real Feel" of 62°. That's with a wind out of the northeast @ seven mph. That 62° will be our overnight low as we head into tomorrow's high-temperature of 80° and then onward to our Wednesday night/Thursday morning low, a chilly 54°! According to my DTWS, the temperature here at the Palatial Estate is 64°. The sun will rise this morning @ 7:09 a.m. and set later @ 8 :18 p.m.

The NWS is reporting a current barometric pressure of 29.90" of Hg and rising, while my own DTWS is showing 29.24" of Hg and falling.

Mary and I made it, it is our 48th wedding anniversary! We've been through a lot, including the birth of our son, several moves, a few bouts with illness, and many fur-children. But through it all, I think that Mary is the best wife that a man could ask for. I guess I fooled her 48 years ago. I hope I can keep it up.

Here is one of the songs that was played at our wedding all those years ago, as performed by The Association, a popular band in the late 60s, entitled Never My Lovehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzgpB9xpyT8

There was one other song I remember from that day, Make It With You, made popular in 1970 by the band Bread https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0KXV0gB0dw

There may have been others, but Mary and I can't remember those either. Just like the meal served at our reception,  Our son couldn't help, as he wasn't there. Oh, I do know that we didn't have at our wedding. The Carpenters singing We've Only Just Begun a popular wedding song from that time period that was released in 1970.

Quickly, the Cubs beat the Twins, 3 - 1 with home runs by Ian Happ and Frank Schwindel. Those two teams play again tonight @ 8:10 p.m. in MN, as LHP Justin Steele takes the mound for the Cubs.

My beloved Red Sox were sent packing by the Rays, 5 - 8, as Xander Bogaerts was pulled from the game in the 2nd inning due to a positive test for the Covid virus. He joins two other position players and four relief pitchers on the Covid IL list. Tonight's game with LHP Chris Sale on the mound for the beloved begins @ 7:10 p.m.

The Tigers looked even worse, as they were toppled by the As, 3 - 9 as LHP Tarik Skubal did not look sharp and recorded his 12th loss against only eight wins. Tonight's game begins @ 7:10 p.m. when RHP Wily Peralta throws the first pitch for the Tigers.

The Caps were more successful as they defeated the Peoria Chiefs last night, 4 - 1. Tonight's game begins @ 7:05 p.m. in the West Michigan Credit Union Ballpark.

I was able to watch both ends of the train runs that are now occurring during the daylight hours. At 9:00 a.m. yesterday, I saw MMRR locomotive 2170 pass by heading southbound towing nine CGCs and 10 DBTCs. Later in the afternoon, @ 1:57 p.m., I espied that same locomotive pass by heading north towing 15 CGCs.

We did get out yesterday for a pick  up at one of those big-box home centers and then we headed over to P.J. Hoffmaster State Park for a short photo-op. I took a few pix, but nothing of any great note.

Near the picnic grove.

Same locale, looking skyward.

Also the same locale looking north.

After we returned, we took a walk with our fur-children. Mary and Ginger went to the waterfront, while STWD and I took a shorter walk so that both Sugar and I could make it home and also so that I had enough energy left to plant our new mums.

I think that my bride of 48 years took some better pix with her Smart Phone camera.

If you can read it, this boat's name is Happiness Is...Punta Gorda, as in Florida. We both agreed, if you are so happy in Florida, why are you in Grand Haven?
Happiness Is... was near these other boats.

Near the Lynn Sherwood Waterfront Stadium and Dewey Hill.

Today, we have no planting to do, no indoor chores, and no obligations of any kind. The fur-children need their monthly meds, the furnace filter needs changing, and the trash bins have to go to the curb. That's the way we like it. I have two crosswords to finish, or not, and more reading to accomplish, or not. Ciao.
