Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just after 4:00 a.m. in "The City."

The current temperature is 23° under clear skies, with winds of four mph that make it feel more like 19°! Today's high-temperature is forecast to reach 42°. We are still on track to reach 50° by Sunday, albeit under partly-cloudy skies and with windy conditions. There are no advisories, watches, nor warnings in the forecast at this time. The sun will rise today @ 7:09 a.m. and set tonight @ 6:42 p.m.

Speaking of those warnings, Mary and I went down to the Grand Haven State Park around 12:00 p.m. yesterday in search of some pix of the 12 foot waves that were in the forecast for that Gale Warning. Before we left, I took a pic of the first garlic bulb that was coming up in the vast gardens of the palatial estate. As you can see, it was sprouting next to the dwindling snow-piles.

Yes my friends, spring is springing earlier this year than last.
Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on your perspective, the waves were not nearly that huge at the South Pier. In fact, the waves were probably disappointing to the two surfers that I photographed out in the "Big Lake."

Were they cold? I want to believe that their dry suits forestalled that possibility.
But, since I was there, I took some shots of Lake Michigan, the south and north piers, and some of the people, who like ourselves, were there to see and photograph the wave-action.

This person was braving the winds and waves using their camera on a tripod.
In addition, I took these pix of the dunes and grasses that are very photogenic from the right angle.

Too windy and cold fro anyone to be climbing on this dune.

Just a stump and a clump of grasses on a tiny dune.
I also took some shots of the empty playground equipment too.

Not an easy shot to take, but I like it!

The rocks near the south pier were icy, but some young people were willing to brave the elements.
We traveled to those aforementioned grocery stores and then headed north to get a small pot for the latest addition to our indoor planting, a succulent. We'll get that planted later today.

We tried to find some Bald Eagles in the Village of Spring Lake yesterday, but all we found were these ducks enjoying the high waters of Spring Lake itself.

This area is a dock that allows boaters to tie up and walk to the village. Unfortunately, the walkways are underwater.
Near that dock, was this metal sculpture of????
On our way back from the north country, I took a pic of this barn, just because.

I wish I had done a better job, but I like barns and farms, so...
A few libations at Stan's and then home to watch some TV news. As we watched, Mary made a terrific vegan lasagna that was her best to date. Well, I guess that I often say that, but this one was especially tasty. At any rate, after the requisite time had passed, we enjoyed our dinner while watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! I was ready for some R & R after our busy day and so I went upstairs to watch some inane TV. But as often happens, I fell asleep.

Today, some rearranging in the kitchen, some reading, some vegan cooking and that's about it. Ciao..
