Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 7:00 a.m. in "The City."

The sun rose over one-hour ago @ 6:05 a.m. It will set later @ 9:22 p.m. In between, the current temperature of 56° and today's high of 79°, we will have mostly-sunny or partly-cloudy skies, depending on the source of your weather information. I use Weather.com.

If you are a Die Hard Cubs Fan, which I am, baseball news yesterday was excellent. Cole Hamels delivered a terrific performance en route to 3 - 1 Cubs' win over their rivals from St. Louis, the Cardinals. Those two teams play again tonight @ 7:15 p.m. EDT.

If you are also a member of the Red Sox Nation, as am I, then the results of yesterday's game against the Rays, 1 - 5, were disappointing. The Sox and Rays play this afternoon @ 1:05 p.m. EDT.

The Tigers, well, what can I say, they are rebuilding and so, they lost to the Twins, 3 - 6. The Tigers and the Twins meet again this afternoon/evening in Comerica Park @ 4:10 p.m. EDT.

The Caps, well they are in a statistical tie in the MWL East division with the Dayton Dragons, albeit for last place. Ouch! Oh well, they will try to do better tonight @ 7:35 p.m. EDT.

Yesterday, we got up and walked the fur-children before our lunch and after their breakfast. I didn't go too far with STWD, as the temperature had already made it too difficult for her to go too far. Mary and Ginger soloed, as Ginger can walk for miles with no respite. A pity that youth is wasted on the young.

After lunch, we took the crate that used to be for STWD and Ginger, down to Harbor Humane Society, as they always welcome donations of animal related items. They tried to entice us into looking around at more fur-babies, but we have two now, so we didn't allow ourselves to be tempted by the siren's song of brown-eyes and lonely faces.

We had planned to go north to the big-box home center in Norton Shores, but the afternoon northbound vacation traffic on US 31 was too much for us to endure. So, we'll do that today as we travel to P.J Hoffmaster State Park to see the Tin Can Campers open house. We would have gone to nearby Harbor Island here in GH today too, in hopes of seeing this year's Feast of the Strawberry Moon. But the flooding conditions around the island mean that the ground is soggy, the grass has not been mowed in weeks, and the mosquitoes are waiting our arrival. So, we'll skip that "opportunity." Maybe next year.

We did make it to the big-box nearly everything store yesterday by taking the back-roads, and that visit went surprisingly well. In and out in under 45 minute. Not bad.

Otherwise, we admired  the vast gardens of the PE, read the newspaper, and our books, and watched some TV. Ciao.
