Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 7:00 a.m. in "The City."

We have a current temperature of 38° under partly-cloudy skies as we attempt to reach today's high temperature of 41° with a Small Craft Advisory still in effect for the shores of the "Big Lake." We'll still have windy conditions making that 41° feel much colder. The sun will still rise in the east @ 7:24 a.m. and set later @ 8:13 p.m. We nay see 60° by Sunday, but then temperatures are forecast to fall into the 40s again.

In baseball news yesterday, there were a couple of pieces of good news. The Cubs didn't play and so they didn't lose. However, they are still in 5th/last place in the NL Central with their record of 1 - 3 as LHP Jon Lester takes the mound tonight in Atlanta @ 6:20 p.m.

More good news, 3rd baseman Kris Bryant's shoulder appears to have healed since last season and that's good, as I can attest. OF Kyle Schwarber, has returned to his old batting stance and is hitting the ball to the opposite field and also hitting home runs. Overall, with the exception of the last game, the Cubs' offense looks solid.

On the negative side, RHP, reliever Carl Edwards jr, was working on a revised delivery during spring-training that MLB™ has ruled illegal. So his success with that move will be negated as he returns to his former delivery.

As expected, the Cubs' bullpen is having some issues, and so they are managing to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory too often in the early going. The Cubs defense should be solid too, if you don't count those six errors in their last game.

My beloved, 5th/last place in the AL East Red Sox, took it on the chin again last night in Oakland, falling to the As, 0 - 1. LHP Chris Sale wasn't throwing with his expected velocity. Should we worry? I dunno, but I am anxious. The Sox and the As meet again tonight @ 10:07 p.m., RHP Nathan Eovaldi takes the mound.

The 3 - 3, 3rd place in the AL Central Tigers, defeated the 3rd place in the AL East Yankees last night, 3 - 1. That is good news for the Tigers, but not so good for the Yankees who were expected to make a run at the Red Sox this season. The Tigers and the Yankees square off again today @ 4:05 p.m. as LHP Matthew Boyd takes the ball. The Tigers are expected to warm up a chilly Comerica Park tomorrow for their home opener as the rains fall and the snow flies. We'll see.

I'm going to slip in a short note here. I think the early success of some hitters in both leagues may be juice induced. Just saying.

I had a good time @ my Coffee and Coloring session yesterday and then segued to my haircut appointment. I was joined by Mary who wanted to go to Taco Bell™ for lunch before my P/T appointment @ 1:00 p.m. I feel like am doing better, and Ben, my therapist, agrees I am making progress, so naturally, he pushed my shoulder to its limits. Ouch!

We followed up my visit to P/T with a stop at Grand Haven's Lake Forest Cemetery and the Grand Haven State Park for some photo shooting. I took a lot of pix, and some of then actually look quite good. I'll let my loyal readers decide.

These leaf-covered steps lead to the grave sites of the Ferry family. The Reverend William Ferry, along with his wife, Amanda, were among the earliest settlers  in Grand Haven in 1834.
Naturally this was one of the graves moved from Grand Haven's Central Park to Lake Forest Cemetery in the early part of the 20th century.
Details, details.

Once section of Lake Forest Cemetery is dedicated to the veterans of America's Civil War.

Nearby, some early spring blooms

Just a fascinating pic.
Next, we were off to the Grand Haven State Park.

We had to park outside, as the gates were closed to automobile traffic.
During reconstruction of the infrastructure @ the park.

I don't know, I just "dig" construction equipment at work.

We've seen bigger waves near the North Pier
Still buried in sand, the Park Pavilion awaits opening day in late May.
Like I noted, no one was home.
As you may have surmised, I am fascinated by unused or little used off-season playgrounds.
One small visitor was on this equipment.
Thus ended our visit to the park.

We made a stop or two in Spring Lake on the way home and then Mary used the baguette we bought @ The Village Baker as part of our spaghetti dinner.

Today, I have to make cookies for our book cub this afternoon while Mary goes to her dental appointment in Holland, without me to navigate. I have to remind her to get up in time and also to take a check to pay for her visit.

I also plan to do more indoor chores and some cleanup after the fur-children. If I still have any energy left, I need to get outside and take down the winter retaining fences in the vast gardens and lawns of the PE. They worked well, but it is time for them to be placed into storage for the "warmer' months to come. Ciao.
