Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 6:30 a.m. in "The City."

The view out the WW at this early hour is partly-cloudy and the current temperature before the sun rises @ 7:27 a.m. is 29°. Once the day gets into full swing, the high temperature, according to the NWS, will reach 41°, also under partly-cloudy skies. The sun will set in the west @ 8:10 p.m. One of these nicer spring days, we'll take the camera and our tripod down to the beach and get a sunrise shot or 10. Or, we can wait until the weather gets more conducive to our old bones being out and about on the shores of the "Big Lake" and we can get some sunset shots. Either way, sun pix will wait for warmer conditions.

Speaking of warmer conditions, the Spartans of MSU men's basketball team defeated the heavily favored Blue Devils of Duke University yesterday, 68 - 67. The upset by MSU sends the #2 Spartans to Minneapolis for a Final Four match-up against the #3 Red Raiders of Texas Tech next Saturday night @ 8:49 p.m. That game follows the #5 Tigers of Auburn University versus the #1 Cavaliers of Virginia University @ 6:09 p.m. There will not be a seat available in any bar in Michigan by about 7:00 p.m. next Saturday night.

Sadly, the baseball news yesterday was not nearly as good. My beloved 5th place in the AL East, 1 - 3 Red Sox, fell once again to the 5 - 1, 1st in the AL West Mariners, 8 - 10, as Rick Porcello faltered and in spite of home runs by Mookie and J. D. The Sox continue their West Coast road swing with a game tonight in Oakland against the 3rd place 3 - 3 As @ 10:07 p.m. as LHP David Price tries to right the ship.

Also sadly, the Cubs can score runs, but their pitching staff gives up even more, as the 4th place in the NL Central, 1 - 2 Cubs, fell to the 2 - 1 in the AL West 2nd place Rangers, 10 - 11. The Cubs seemingly tried to lose the game, as they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory several times. The Cubs play the Braves in Atlanta tonight @ 6:10 p.m. as RHP Kyle Hendricks takes the mound.

Good news from Detroit, as the 3rd place. 2 - 2 in the AL Central Tigers, edged the 3rd place in the AL East Blue Jays, 4 - 3. The Tigers send RHP David Ross to the mound to face the 4th place in the AL East Yankees tonight @ 6:35 p.m. The Yankees will be hungry following their 5 - 7 loss to the Orioles yesterday.

I went to the movies solo yesterday afternoon, as Mary opted to read @ home. I saw one of my favorite genre of movies, a romance, The Philadelphia Story, starring Katherine Hepburn, Cary Grant, and James Stewart. Of course, I had a small popcorn topped with nutritional yeast, washed down by a humongous cherry Pepsi.

Today, not much is happening. More indoor chores, more reading in preparation for our upcoming book club meeting, and that's about it. I'm good with that. Oh, we may get in that walk with the fur-children that we didn't get to yesterday because of the cold and blustery conditions on the mean streets of GH. Ciao.
