Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just 5:30 a.m. in "The City.":
I'd like to say that we didn't get that snow that was in the forecast. Yes, I'd like to say that, but I can't. The Winter Weather Advisory that was issued by the NWS, scheduled to last until 7:00 p.m. tonight dumped on us. I saw the city plows go by around 5:05 a.m., heading west on the north-side of our eastbound street, in an attempt to get ahead of this late winter storm.
What they have done is to plow the snow into the driveways on that side once again. The plows just came down the south-side of our street and there is snow aplenty in our shared driveway. Oh well, not to worry, all I have on tap for today that requires going out is my monthly trip to the library for my pencil coloring session. That's @ 10:00 a.m., so maybe things will be cleared up by that time.
However, that forecast which calls for an additional one inch of snow. suggests that there will be more problems tonight during the evening commute with blowing and drifting snow causing poor visibility and long commutes. We shall see. The sun will rise today @ 7:14 a.m. and set later @ 6:39 p.m.
In Lakeland, FL, the Tigers have a current temperature of 59° with showers in the forecast and a high temperature of only 61°
In Ft. Myers, FL, my beloved Red Sox are experiencing 69° and anticipate today's partly-cloudy skies to yield a high temperature of only 73°.
However, the Cubs finally catch a break today. While they have a current temperature of 53°, they are expecting today's high temperature to reach 80° with sunny skies.
We made P/T yesterday and then picked up @ "The Bell" for lunch. We carried our bean, no-cheese burritos home, and added Mary's Spanish rice as a side. Since the weather was not conducive to further going out, we stayed in the rest of the day. We watched some TV, while I had a hammish sandwich as Mary had leftover toona casserole. All good.
As previously mentioned, I hope to go to the library today. Not certain if that will be possible, but here's hoping. The fur-children will go out and get cold paws, after their morning repast. Mary has some plans, but I don't know any specifics. Ciao.
