Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 2:00 a.m. in "The City."

I simply must start with the weather, but not here in the Tri-Cities area, but rather, in the Western and Plains states. Winter Storm Ulmer, is lashing those states with winds that are gusting to nearly 100 mph! Plus, areas from the Dakotas to Minnesota are experiencing snow so heavy that traveling is nearly impossible. Colorado is being pounded so hard, that a State Trooper was hit while attempting to assist a motorist on the interstate and lost his life when a following car lost control. More than 1,000 motorists are stranded and the Colorado National Guard has been called out to assist in their rescue.

Apparently, Winter Storm Ulmer is a never before seen phenomenon, a "Bomb Cyclone", that is producing conditions over land that are eerily similar to the conditions in Mary's favorite apocalyptic movie, The Day After Tomorrow! While that movie was fictional, the reality of Winter Storm Ulmer resembles this scene from that movie which I have included from YouTube™.

Here in GH, the current temperature is 48° as we move towards today's high of 54°. That should assist in the melting of the snows on the PE. However, by Friday, the temperatures will fall and we'll be much colder for several more days. We will also see a River Flood Warning from Saturday until next Wednesday as the snows melt and the water has nowhere to go due to the still frozen soil. Sigh. The sun will rise today @ 7:59 a.m. and set this evening @ 7:50 p.m.

Out in Mesa, AZ, where the Cubs are training, the current temperature is 28° and it will fall further to reach this morning's low of 24°! Later today, the high will only reach 43°. How about that folks, it will be warmer in Michigan today than in Arizona today!

In Lakeland, FL, the spring home of the Detroit Tigers, and the only team to play all of its games during WWII and win the World Series in 1945 over the Cubs, the current temperature is 66° and as the day unfolds, the high will reach 85° under mostly-sunny skies.

In Ft. Myers, FL, home to my beloved Red Sox, the current temperature is 69° as they head for 86°, also under mostly-sunny skies.

I accomplished quite a bit yesterday. I organized the man-cave and I think it looks 100% better. I also moved more of the snow mounds in the back forty, to allow the fur-children room to roam. We still have some major cleanup to do out there.

Dinner last night was Mary's first-ever attempt at making vegan Calzones. I think she nailed it by using more of her homemade pepperoni, tomato sauce, mushrooms, and sweet peppers with vegan mozzarella cheese all wrapped in her own pizza dough.

Last evening, I came upstairs after watching Jeopardy, while Mary stayed downstairs to watch, you guessed it, The Day After Tomorrow and also to move the fur-children outside for their final out. She took a picture of them as they needed "Direction" with regard to what they should be doing other than getting another treat for just being cute. I lost myself in some car shows and some chair sleeping.

Yes, totally expecting treats without doing anything.
Today, I have two appointments, the first at the podiatrist for my quarterly visit and then later, another visit to P/T. I am technically at the end of my prescribed number of appointments after today, but Ben, my therapist, believes that he can contact the doctor's office and get an extension, as both he and I think that more can be accomplished.

While I am out, Mary plans to make vegan nachos for lunch that will include vegan cheese sauce, her homemade pepperoni, some lettuce, and hopefully, some jalapeno peppers for me. Later, Mary will be going with me to that P/T appointment so that we can go to that big-box almost everything store for some grocery items that we can't get elsewhere. Ciao.
