Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 4:30 a.m. in "The City."
I am going to make this a short one and follow the KISS formula once again.
We have a current, pre-sunrise temperature of 11°. The sun will rise @ 7:16 a.m. and set later this evening @ 6:37 p.m. In between, the high temperature may rise to the forecast high of 12°. Tomorrow, Tuesday, the temperature may get to 17°.
As of now, the NWS is forecasting a possibility of one to two inches of additional snow along the shores of the "Big Lake." We are still hopeful that the snow will begin to melt away by the weekend.
In Mesa, AZ, the current temperature is 57°, but the Cubs and their many fans will be enjoying 74° under partly-cloudy skies.
In Lakeland, FL, the current temperature is 71°, however later today, there is a chance for morning T-storms as the Tigers and their fans await today's high temperature of 79°
In Ft. Myers, FL, home to my beloved Red Sox, the current temperature is 72° and they anticipate a high today of 82°, also under partly-cloudy skies.
We had a good day yesterday. Mary used up some of the leftovers, reducing her refrigerated bowls by two. Lunch was hammish sandwiches on home baked rye bread, with a side salad. Dinner was nachos and Spanish rice. The nachos were slathered in Daiya™ cheese sauce, shredded cheese, and included black olives and beans. I liked this version of the nachos the best to date.
Otherwise, I finished the crossword from the Grand Haven Tribune weekend edition and finished the one story I wanted to read in the latest book I was reading. That book contains three stories, and I don't like anthologies very much.
Mary did get her seedlings planted, which necessitated a trip to the local big-box home center for a watering can with small holes. At this time of year, those are few and far between and covered with the dust and dirt that accumulated over the fall and early winter months as they sat on the shelf.
We also went to the library to pick up some books and add them to the large number of books I have to read. I am behind on my reading. That's okay, because too many is better than too few. Mary continued her knitting project after dinner while watching more of the apocalyptic movies she enjoys. She chastises my taste in TV shows, that are often in black and white, but the only discernible difference between my TV shows and her movies is that her movies are generally in color.
I retired to the media room and fell asleep. I woke up long enough to go downstairs and let the fur-children out. I returned back to the upstairs boudoir to fall into bed until about 3:00 a.m. I'd like to say that I slept longer, but too much napping spoils the man and his sleep. Once awake, I watched one of those aforementioned black and white TV shows.
Today, more P/T and more reading for me and more knitting for Mary along with more leftovers for both of us. Mary reminded me that when you make a casserole, it generally comes out with more than enough servings, thus generating leftovers. Maybe tomorrow I can get to that slow-cooker seitan pot roast I plan to make, Of course, that will have to come before or shortly after I go to the colored pencil drawing session that I now attend monthly at the library. I should mention that I have added more color to my pencil and soft-chalk drawing that is on my easel in the art-corner. I am mostly satisfied, but it is not yet as I want it to be. Art is a process. Ciao.
