Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 4:30 a.m. in "The City."

Let's go for that KISS thing again.

We have a current temperature of either 47° or 50° under mostly cloudy skies, depending on the source. Today's high has only one source for the forecast, the NWS in GR and they are forecasting a high of 67° under partly cloudy skies. The sun will rise @ 6:26 a.m. and set @ 8:56 p.m.

The Cubs split a pair with the Rockies yesterday with Jake Arrieta taking the loss in the first game by a score of 4 - 10. In the second game, John Lackey got the win with a score of 8 - 1. Those two results find the Cubs still in 3rd place in the NL Central with an overall record of 17 - 16. Today's game in Colorado will begin @ 3:10 p.m.

The Tigers are now in 3rd place too, with an overall record of 16 - 15 in the AL Central, following their win over the AZ D'backs by a score of 7 - 3. They play the D'backs again tonight @ 9:40 p.m.

My beloved Red Sox once again were victimized by the Brewers with a final score of 7 - 11 in an interleague game. That loss finds the Sox still in 3rd place in the AL East with an overall record of 17 - 15. They play the Brew Crew again tonight @ 8:10 p.m.

The Caps loss to the Peoria Chiefs by a score of 1 - 3, moves the Caps down to 3rd place in the MWL East with an overall record of 20 - 12. They Caps play in Peoria again today @ 12:00 p.m.

We collectively finished the index yesterday and sent it on its way, early.

Trainspotting for GTTSD and myself yesterday was interesting. At 11:48 a.m., EMD GP 38-2 locomotive #2019 was soloing in its usual MMRR livery heading south, towing 12 CHCs, one DWTC with a green stripe around its mid-section, one GTC, and one DBTC. The same locomotive returned @ 5:08 p.m. and GTTSD and I were here to see it towing 10 DBTCs, 13 CHCs, three GTCs, and on DWTC.

Speaking of Ginger, she was groomed yesterday and looks adorable. She was probably upset that her visit to the daycare center was altered by the grooming experience. I also took her out @ 3:30 a.m. this morning since both she and I were up and about.

Our new window blinds arrived yesterday and were installed. They look terrific with the exception that the one in the kitchen window requires a slight addition/modification to the light fixture over the sink to allow for clearance. We picked up the necessary parts to make that happen at the big-box home center late yesterday afternoon.

Today is the preparation day for our upcoming travels. Mary will be plotting our various routes and stops and I'll be doing some indoor chores and some outdoor planting. I think in this case I got the better part of the deal.

We have to pack for our impending departure and be sure that we have everything that we need to make our trip rewarding and successful. No matter what, it is likely that we'll forget something.  Ciao.
