Good morning GH. It is just past 10:30 a.m. in "The City." The sun has already risen into sunny skies on a day when the NWS is forecasting a high temperature of 66°. The sun will set tonight @ 9:09 p.m. The NWS is also forecasting a slight chance of rain this evening. Tomorrow's weather looks dicier and that means similar temperatures but a 60% chance of rain.
Yesterday, my yak was still aching and so STWD and I took a short walk while Mary and GTTSD walked to Kite Fest 2017 at the beach. Based on the pictures that I am posting here, it looks as though the rains kept the crowds down, but the kites themselves were up and spectacular.
Some kites were just getting off the ground when Mary and Ginger arrived. |
As you can see, the crowds were down this year. |
Our south pier looks barren with the catwalk removed. |
Once aloft, the kites looked great! |
I guess you can say, that "Pigs do fly!" |
What's Kite Fest in GH without food trucks? |
Although she is a trouper, Ginger was too pooped to pop by the end of the walk to the beach and back. |

In a rare photo, Sugar seemed unfazed by Ginger's exhaustion. |
In sports news, the Cubs were victorious over the Brewers, 13 - 6. That gives the Cubs an NL Central record of 22 - 20, good for 3rd place. They play the Giants @ "The Friendly Confines" tonight @ 8:05 p.m.
The Tigers, unfortunately, lost to the Rangers, by a score of 2 - 5. That gives the Tigers an AL Central record of 21 - 21, also good for 3rd place. The Tigers play the Astros in Houston tonight @ 8:05 p.m.
My beloved Red Sox handily defeated the As in Oakland by a final score of 12 - 3. That gives the beloved an AL East record of 22 - 21, also good for 3rd place. They are off today and then they play the Rangers @ Fenway @ 7:10 p.m. tomorrow night.
The Caps were rained out yesterday, but they attempt to play again tonight at the Fifth/Third Ballpark against the Ft. Wayne TinCaps @ 6:35 p.m. They remain in 2nd place in the MWL Eastern division with a record of 28 - 15, 1.5 games behind Mary's sentimental favorites, the Dayton Dragons.
Today I have my various appointments, we have a visit from John about some work we are planning and Mary has plans to listen to the radio and watch bad news on TV after the morning safari with the fur-children. Ciao.
