We made it to the library yesterday afternoon to see a performance by the Boogie Woogie Kid, AKA Matthew Ball. He is a former attorney who went to a boogie woogie piano show in 2001 and became so enamored of the boogie woogie songs that he had heard that he quit the practice of law and devoted himself to becoming a full-time boogie woogie piano player. We're glad he did. I've included a YouTube piece by Ball to give you the flavor of what we heard. This one is a combination of Amazing Grace and When the Saints Go Marching In.

We are once again in the throes of still more winter weather advisories. The NWS has extended their River Flood Warning through Wednesday afternoon for portions of West Michigan and they have also issued another Winter Weather Advisory effective from 7:00 p.m. tonight until 1:00 a.m. Wednesday. This warning is for additional ice on the roads and up to seven inches of new snow. We are scheduled to go to the orthopedist on Tuesday, so we're hoping that our AWD Jeep™ will be able to make it.In addition, we have a P/T appointment tomorrow in Spring Lake and another her in GH on Thursday.
The NWS is reporting a current temperature of 24° as we drop down to our overnight low of 21° The high today forecast to be 33°, just warm enough to make sidewalks and roads slippery. The sun will rise today @ 7:48 a.m and set tonight @ 6:10 p.m. About that Winter Weather Advisory for tonight, it is snowing right now as I look out the WW.
We had a quickie breakfast yesterday morning in anticipation of our concert stop and a visit to the grocery store, with a visit to our favorite watering hole for dinner. However, since the afternoon activities took less time than anticipated, we instead made a stop @ Stan's in Spring Lake and then came home where Mary made a tasty dinner of mushroom Stroganoff over chickpea rotini pasta. I liked it. Below are some pix of her efforts.

On the plate and ready to eat. |
I got tired after dinner and so I came upstairs to read while Mary tuned in several episodes of Outlander, her latest favorite. I read and watched Top Gun for the umpteenth time.
Meanwhile, the fur-children were in and out, scrumming as we call it, in the living room in between. Here they are in all their glory.
Not sure which girl is winning. |
Since it is now Monday, February 11, it is important to note that spring returns tomorrow when the pitchers and catchers report.
Otherwise, not much is happening today. Some reading, some cooking, some crossword solving, some sewing, some knitting, and? Ciao.
