Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 3:00 a.m. in "The City."

I was just downstairs to let the fur-children out around 2:30 a.m. and empty the dishwasher. The overnight temperature has improved markedly. We are all the way up to 17°! In fact, today's high is forecast by the NWS to reach 36°, a veritable heat wave for West MI. There is no precipitation in the forecast for today, however, tomorrow's forecast includes a 60% possibility for rain that increases to 100° by Monday. Sunday's forecast is for a high temperature of 40° with 43° on Monday! Let me see, snow or rain? Decisions, decisions.

We plunge back into the colder temperatures by Tuesday with a high in the forecast of only 26°. However, some things never change, like the sun will always rise in the East, today @ 7:59 a.m.with it setting in the West @ 5:58 p.m. Yes, the daylight hours are getting longer. You know that that really means, don't you? Spring training reporting days are fast approaching too, with all of my teams seeing their pitchers and catchers report on February 12, just a short 10 days away! Ahhh, the sweet smell of pine tar, the thwack of baseballs off of bats and into freshly oiled gloves. Sweet!

We got out for  a short errand run yesterday after the USPS was able to hit the highways and byways and deliver three issues of the Grand Haven Tribune to go with our daily dose of junk mail. No mid-winter trip to Spring Lake would be complete without a stop for Mary at the Spring Lake Florist for some flowers for her flower room, as seen below. Somewhere in there, we collectively did those indoor chores too.

Lunch was some leftovers as I remember, sorry Mary, but dinner was more memorable, consisting of vegan sausage mixed with tomato sauce and served over pasta with Mary's homemade bread. I judge this dinner a keeper.

When I was downstairs with the fur-children, I noted that Mary has started another loaf of either whole wheat or rye bread. I'll know more in about 24 hours or so.

We made a short stop at the grocery store while on our errand run, but the real grocery stop will likely be later today as Mary forgets that this is the Saturday before Super Bowl LIII and all of the accompanying craziness that lures people to the stores for their game-time snacks and meals.

So today, we have no specific plans and that's OK with me. I want to do more drawing, more reading and Mary wants to watch the bread rise. Ciao.
