Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 3:30 a.m. in "The City."

I was out with the fur-children around 2:00 a.m. and there was just a smattering of rain falling and the skies were cloudy. The temperature, as reported by the NWS in GR, was 63°. Today's high is forecast to be 76°, also under cloudy skies. The sun will rise @ 7:04 a.m. and set @ 8:27 p.m.

I edited yesterday while Mary worked on the main index. Now that I have all of the files to electronically peruse, things went much more smoothly. We have more to do, but we are in the home-stretch, I hope.

Adam and Steph stayed at the manse again Friday night and then spent much of their day yesterday either lazing on the deck or front porch or going walkabout here in GH. They wanted to relax and we left them to their pursuits.

I got in some time with the girls and rewrote some music into my personal format. I am always changing/rearranging the songs to suit my pleasure.

The baseball news yesterday was 3/4 good.

The Cubs crushed the Phillies in an NL Central versus NL East game, 17 - 2. The Cubs had a huge 7th inning in which starting and winning pitcher Kyle Hendricks got two hits, one of them a double. Anthony Rizzo got two home-runs and five RBIs in the game to bring his season totals to 30 home-runs and 90 RBIs. Tommy LaStella also got two home-runs in the game and Kris Bryant also went back-to-back with Rizzo on a home-run. Given the power outage that plagued the Cubs' hitters Friday night, this was over the top. The Cubs have a 69 - 59 record, good enough for 1st place and a three game lead over the winning Brewers and four and one-half games over the winning Cardinals. The Cubs and the Phillies close out their series today @ 1:35 p.m.

My beloved Red Sox were thoroughly outplayed by the Orioles in an AL East loss, 0 - 7. The Sox are still in 1st place by three and one-half games over the winning Yankees. The Sox have a record of 73 - 56. They play the Orioles again today @ 1:35 p.m.

The Tigers went to Chicago and played that other team in a game plagued by rain. The Tigers won the AL Central game, 6 - 3. That win gives the Tigers a solid hold on 4th place, five games ahead of that other team from Chicago. They play today @ 2:10 p.m.

The Caps got back on track and took their MWL East game from the visiting Hot Rods, 3 - 0. That win gives the Caps a record of 40 - 21 and finds them one and one-half games ahead of the TinCaps. The Caps and the Hot Rods play this afternoon @ 1:00 p.m.

The kids will be heading back home this morning. They have had a good time and they can now get back to their work-a-day world. Mary and I can get back to retirement and indexing respectively. I have some reading to catch up on for our book club and also some additional indexing to do. Mary has the bulk of the work to do on that index. I may or may not get into the kitchen today after the morning safari. Ciao.
